Abstract
[edit]In 2021 we published an open access edited volume, Wikipedia and Academic Libraries: A Global Project. In this panel presentation we will discuss the process of creating an edited volume and chapter authors will discuss their chapters.
- Laurie Bridges, one of the co-editors, will discuss the process of pulling together an editorial team, finding a publisher, selecting book chapters, and raising funds. She’ll share a few things learned along the way to final publication.
- Michael David Miller will discuss his chapter which describes his contribution, as a liaison librarian, in addressing the Québécois LGBTQ+ gap in the Francophone Wikipedia project, WikipédiaFR.
- Adaora Obuezie will discuss her co-authored chapter about African Librarians' experiences with wikimedia through #AfLibWk #1Lib1Ref campaign and the journey so far.
- Francesc Fort will discuss his co-authored chapter about the Bibliowikis initiative in the Catalan-speaking areas.
- Crystal Fulton, Rebecca O’Neill, and Marta Bustillo will discuss their collaborative chapter about learning design to embed digital citizenship skills in the undergraduate classroom.
