One way of introducing Wikipedia to a wider academic community in a university is to show them how it it researched. This could get even better if you made your own research about Wikipedia. This session introduces to the audience the different fields in which Wiki research can take place to help them see the many academic areas it can fall in. It also given a step-by-step guide to convincing senior faculty of it, if it is the first time to happen in this institution and opposition is expected.
- How does your proposal add knowledge to the international community in Wikimedia and education?
It gives the audience the summary of hands-on experience in preparing a successful research on Wikipedia. It also shows the effect it can have on supporting Wikipedia and Wikimedia in academia and academic institutions.
