Where we are as of June 2024[edit]
- Evaluation and learning
We discussed the evaluation of Wikimania 2023 - going through the data, the views we heard and the attendee feedback. Upcoming Wikimanias
- Planning Wikimania 2024
We received regular updates from the Wikimania 2024 COT representative, Maciej Nadzikiewicz, on key milestones (e.g. scholarships), progress (e.g. programming decisions) and planning (e.g. the travel experience). The steering committee liaison, Phoebe Ayers, also attends the regular COT meetings keeping us closely connected to Wikimania 2024. Andrew Lih, representing the WSC, visited the site in Katowice in April.
- Planning future Wikimanias - 2025 and 2026
We will be collaborating with the 2025, and 2026 teams to support and advise various COT teams. Last September, we announced the locations for Wikimania in 2025 and 2026. We've been working with both teams to hear their thoughts on venues and finalise locations.
- Future of Wikimania
Planning for an in-person gathering at Wikimania 2024 is also underway. The committee will also host a session on the future of Wikimania at Wikimania in Katowice
