I attended the Mexico and Montano Session which gave me a sneak peek into their culture. It was amazing how I felt like I could tap into their identities as a people just because of their singing nd playing of the musical instruments and the way they danced and sang. This was very important to me because I love diversity and the opportunity to appreciate other people’s culture. I also attended the session about the effects of Physical exercise on being happy. It was magnificent to see how doing such basic things such as laughing, listening to music while doing some rhythmic patterns with the body and also laughing could make one feel so much happier. I never knew about such amazing activities like this before. I loved the meditation music the session leader used. She reminded me of the Ancient China with the calm rivers and beautiful sea creatures. I also loved the session about touring a Rwandan reserve. First and foremost, I was very glad to see Africa featuring in Wikimania. I was intrigued by the fact that I could see my own country and Culture represented on WIkimania and even more importantly, at a reserve showcasing African vegetation. They talked about the Lions at the reserve and how old they were and also played some games. I enjoyed watching this a lot and I am glad they got supported by Wikimania to give us all such a nice tour.
- How did you connect with other people during Wikimania 2022? How did you celebrate at Wikimania 2022?
Every moment of wikimania had a connection to me because it gave me the opportunity to tap into other people’s culture repeatedly. At one of the hackathon sessions, I got the opportunity to participate in a project for Language translations. Even though I am still trying to reach out to that panel lead, I am still very happy I got to meet such amazing people.
