Venue pictures

[edit]

Can you post internal room pictures, and floorplans, from the main venue and other key buildings? Thanks, -- sj | help translate |+ 19:51, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

See [1], [2] and [3]. --90.242.121.30 22:21, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Typical daily schedule / transportation times

[edit]

Can you describe what you expect a daily schedule to look like, focusing on transport times from hotels and between lodging / venues / eating areas? If you are using different venues on different days (but not on the same day), please elaborate a bit on this. -- sj | help translate |+ 20:05, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Travel from accomodation to venue will probably be on the scale of a 10 minute walk (we don't know exactly which colleges we'll be in, yet, so can't be certain - worst case scenario, we have to lay on buses, wouldn't be more than a 10 minute ride, or so). The conference will all be in Town Hall, as will lunch. The only stuff which will be at a different venue is the hacking days before the conference. --90.242.121.30 22:18, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Team structure

[edit]

I see you have many different tasks already being worked on on the Organization page; some of the people with tasks aren't on your list of local team members, but are only listed as supporters. It would help to see the local team organized into the major areas you expect to handle. Is everyone listed there planning to dedicate significant time to organization over the coming year? -- sj | help translate |+ 17:57, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Putting together such a list is on our todo list - hopefully it will be done in the next couple of days. --Tango 18:50, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Budget issue

[edit]

What bothers me in the budget is the cost of accommodation. What does it mean "several large rooms"? Let's say that "several" means 15. Now, let's do the math: 700 divided by 15 is 47. You plan to host 50 people in one, large room? Don't get me wrong, I'm not picky and I'd rather save money than spend it in Ritz hotel, but it doesn't sound valid. That money is for social space at the accommodation. Attendees will have to pay for their own rooms (organised through us). If we have a surplus of sponsorship, we intend to subsidise the cost. As it says in Wikimania 2010/Bids/Oxford#Accommodation, we expect the accommodation to cost a maximum of £50 per person per night (most likely individual rooms), but hope it will be lower. --Tango 01:33, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Accomodation will also be available in quality hostels which will cost around £25. Seddon 21:54, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wheelchair Access

[edit]

Most of Oxford, as I recall, is old buildings and old buildings are seldom wheelchair friendly. What accommodations, meeting venues and transportation facilities are available to delegates in wheelchairs? 24.138.121.254 19:57, known as User:Bielle on en.wikipedia 15 August 2009 (UTC)
