Wikimania 2007/Las Vegas

Well, in terms of time/scheduling, it should take place during the summer. That way, we're paying rather modest airfare and hotel accomodation. (Wikipedia user Vegasrebel29)

I don't know how much real interest there is with the Las Vegas venue, but I would be willing to both attend if held there as well as help with the organizing committee. Certainly there is the hotel space, scenic places to visit, and conference rooms available to host such an event, and as said there is a view on the part of the Nevada government to want to encourage "high tech" opportunities and diversify the Las Vegas economy.
