- CFP translation & distribution, report & ideas | other announcements (cf. communications)
- Paper reviewing process
- Discuss workshops, panels, art submissions
- Todo this week: get community members to submit workshop/panel proposals
- Publicity collaboration
- Workshop contacts after the meeting
- Website organization and content (see proposal here)
- Speaker invite updates.
Notes
[edit]- CFP Translation (somebody please fill this in as I missed it)
- Paper reviewing process: What we are doing is:
- Reviewing papers through the Indico system (http://cfp.wikimania.wikimedia.org)
- To use this system, you must create an account, and then someone (brassratgirl or neuralis) has to add you as a track coordinator
- After this has been done, when you log into Indico and click on "manage my tracks" you'll see a listing of the tracks you're a coordinator for; click on this and you'll see the abstracts.
- For now, please only leave internal comments; don't use the propose accept, reject, or move to another track buttons until there's been time to discuss the abstracts. T
- Questions on Indico to neuralis (Ivan); questions on process to brassratgirl (Phoebe).
- Workshops & panels:
- Research workshop, others
- Distributing the CFP, getting more abstracts submitted, translations; organized distribution drive after the communication committee meeting on Saturday; ping sj for details.
- Website discussion skipped, though it's noted that there's lots of pages on the Wikimania2006 that can be worked on by anybody, including boston info pages & the pages listed on the Open to-do list (see above).
- Speaker invites - sj & phoebe are in the middle of inviting speakers; no replies yet though TB-L declines (sadly); next wave of invites week after next.
Log (from the Sea of Cortez)
[edit][3/23/2006 3:11 PM] <brassratgirl> hey all [3/23/2006 3:11 PM] <ngb> sj: ok, added to the Spanish version. [3/23/2006 3:11 PM] <_sj_> just getting to the open todo list at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania_2006/Program#Open_to-do_list [3/23/2006 3:11 PM] <_sj_> nice. (sistero, around?) [3/23/2006 3:12 PM] <_sj_> brg, would you care to speak to the todos? [3/23/2006 3:12 PM] <brassratgirl> Right. [3/23/2006 3:12 PM] <brassratgirl> So, this is just a list of basic jobs that I put together - things that need doing [3/23/2006 3:12 PM] <brassratgirl> that don't require anything special [3/23/2006 3:13 PM] <brassratgirl> and I'd like to keep it updated, and available both for all of us, and for anyone else who wants to help out but doesn't know where to begin [3/23/2006 3:13 PM] <_sj_> if you see tasks you'd love to do but don't have time to, you can add them to that list. [3/23/2006 3:14 PM] <brassratgirl> yes, feel free to add stuff, of course. [3/23/2006 3:14 PM] <brassratgirl> it'd be nice to have it turn into a community to-do list for the conference [3/23/2006 3:14 PM] <_sj_> speaking of which... I readded an old link about the website content [3/23/2006 3:15 PM] <_sj_> at the end of the agenda. Now that we have a publicly editable site, this is much more a 'general todo' item. [3/23/2006 3:16 PM] <brassratgirl> ok. what have you guys talked about so far? [3/23/2006 3:16 PM] <Amgine> Uhm, not much. [3/23/2006 3:16 PM] <_sj_> we just covered cfp issues. [3/23/2006 3:16 PM] <Angela> talking about the website, has anything happened about getting part of it private? [3/23/2006 3:16 PM] <_sj_> and reaching out about workshop submissions after the meeting. [3/23/2006 3:16 PM] <brassratgirl> hey Amgine [3/23/2006 3:16 PM] <Amgine> <waves @ brg> [3/23/2006 3:16 PM] <_sj_> no, not yet. [3/23/2006 3:17 PM] <_sj_> angela: and/or using last year's internal section? [3/23/2006 3:17 PM] <_sj_> we're able now to review abstracts within indico, so we don't need to do that on a private page. [3/23/2006 3:18 PM] <_sj_> but we will still need a place for any private speaker discussion. [3/23/2006 3:18 PM] * neuralis waves [3/23/2006 3:18 PM] <brassratgirl> hey neuralis [3/23/2006 3:18 PM] <cormaggio> on indico, has that meeting happened about how to go about it, or is this it or..? [3/23/2006 3:18 PM] <_sj_> (see next item) [3/23/2006 3:19 PM] <_sj_> we met briefly on sunday. [3/23/2006 3:19 PM] <cormaggio> right - is there a log? [3/23/2006 3:19 PM] <brassratgirl> cormaggio: not one I've posted anywhere [3/23/2006 3:19 PM] <brassratgirl> (yet) [3/23/2006 3:19 PM] <Angela> have any non-program people said anything about changing the website? Do any of the other teams need a private section on it? [3/23/2006 3:19 PM] <ngb> indico? [3/23/2006 3:19 PM] <brassratgirl> Angela: I don't know [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] <_sj_> angela: yes. [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] <ngb> Sorry, this is me revealing my ignorance. [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] * reagleBRKLN too [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] <_sj_> ngb: it's the system we're using for processing papers. [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] <brassratgirl> ngb: indico is the conference submission management software [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] <ngb> sj: Ok, ta. [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] <cormaggio> private sections could be useful - i don't know exactly how for now, but yes.. [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] <brassratgirl> so, shall we talk about paper reviewing quickly? [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] <Angela> Ngb: see cfp.wikimania.wikimedia.org - that's indico. [3/23/2006 3:20 PM] <brassratgirl> esp. for the people who don't know what indico is... [3/23/2006 3:21 PM] <Amgine> 5 minute brief, please. [3/23/2006 3:21 PM] <cormaggio> brg, not if you've already done so, it might just waste time (?) [3/23/2006 3:21 PM] <cormaggio> well. 5 mins ok :-) [3/23/2006 3:21 PM] <_sj_> angela: we'll really need a separate private wiki for that. [3/23/2006 3:21 PM] <brassratgirl> well, here's a rundown of what we decided, broadly, on sunday: [3/23/2006 3:22 PM] <_sj_> the way it was done last year was a hack; we could do that again this year at the expense of not allowing a broad body of editors/translators to fix the live site (and having to update a whitelist) [3/23/2006 3:22 PM] <brassratgirl> inside indico, you can view and comment on submitted abstracts, by track, and propose to accept or reject them [3/23/2006 3:22 PM] <_sj_> but then we'd also have to separate the proceedings from the discussion about those proceedings. [3/23/2006 3:23 PM] <brassratgirl> To use it, everyone on the program team should go to the cfp site, and create an account [3/23/2006 3:23 PM] <brassratgirl> (and let me know what that account is) [3/23/2006 3:23 PM] <cormaggio> i've forgotten my account name [3/23/2006 3:23 PM] <brassratgirl> s'ok, it's a search [3/23/2006 3:24 PM] <_sj_> cormac: did you use your real name? [3/23/2006 3:24 PM] <cormaggio> and the site hasn't emailed my password again [3/23/2006 3:24 PM] <brassratgirl> if you used your real name, I can find you [3/23/2006 3:24 PM] <cormaggio> can\t remember [3/23/2006 3:24 PM] <cormaggio> well, it'll be cormac lawler or cormaggio thats for sure [3/23/2006 3:24 PM] <brassratgirl> anyhow, I or neuralis or sj can set you up as a "track coordinator" which means you can view the abstracts within a particular track [3/23/2006 3:25 PM] <brassratgirl> So the basic process will be to log in to indico, read your abstracts, and leave comments on the "comment" page [3/23/2006 3:25 PM] <brassratgirl> (though we won't start paper reviewing in earnest til after the deadline for submissions, which is April 15) [3/23/2006 3:25 PM] <Amgine> What is the site url? [3/23/2006 3:25 PM] <brassratgirl> http://cfp.wikimania.wikimedia.org/ [3/23/2006 3:25 PM] <neuralis> Amgine: http://cfp.wikimania.wikimedia.org [3/23/2006 3:26 PM] <reagleBRKLN> he on onand and an/me creates account [3/23/2006 3:26 PM] <brassratgirl> eh? [3/23/2006 3:27 PM] * reagleBRKLN creates account [3/23/2006 3:27 PM] <reagleBRKLN> forget the mumbling at the start ;) [3/23/2006 3:27 PM] <_sj_> your keyboard's playing footsie w/ irc [3/23/2006 3:27 PM] <cormaggio> 'twas cryptic but i got it [3/23/2006 3:27 PM] <reagleBRKLN> speech recognition :) [3/23/2006 3:27 PM] <brassratgirl> anyway, there are a few quirks to the system [3/23/2006 3:28 PM] <brassratgirl> but there shouldn't be any ways to do permanent damage :) [3/23/2006 3:28 PM] <ngb> heh [3/23/2006 3:28 PM] <ngb> Fancy a bet? :) [3/23/2006 3:28 PM] <brassratgirl> Please, though, don't use the "propose accept/reject/move to another track" buttons for now ... [3/23/2006 3:29 PM] <brassratgirl> instead, just leave comments. [3/23/2006 3:29 PM] <brassratgirl> ngb: no. [3/23/2006 3:29 PM] <brassratgirl> :) [3/23/2006 3:29 PM] <cormaggio> brg - gotcha [3/23/2006 3:29 PM] <Amgine> Okay, we have software, now we need submissions. Next item? [3/23/2006 3:30 PM] <_sj_> http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania_2006/Program_ideas#Tutorials [3/23/2006 3:30 PM] <brassratgirl> yes. (and questions about indico to neuralis). [3/23/2006 3:30 PM] <_sj_> (hey neuralis!) [3/23/2006 3:30 PM] <neuralis> hola sj [3/23/2006 3:31 PM] <neuralis> at some point, we should discuss doing something to remedy the relatively dismal number of submissions so far. [3/23/2006 3:31 PM] <brassratgirl> (also, I'll work on setting people up in indico this weekend; let me know if you can't see what you're supposed to see). [3/23/2006 3:31 PM] <_sj_> yep. [3/23/2006 3:32 PM] <reagleBRKLN> umm... i should submit soon.. don't people always wait to last minute? [3/23/2006 3:32 PM] <brassratgirl> well, cfp distribution will likely help. [3/23/2006 3:32 PM] <_sj_> so right now, we should focus on tutorials and workshops [3/23/2006 3:32 PM] <brassratgirl> reagle: that's been my assumption, that everyone will submit at the last minute. [3/23/2006 3:32 PM] <_sj_> we have our own sets of panel suggestions for most tracks. [3/23/2006 3:32 PM] <_sj_> but we need to remind everyone this weekend that now's the last time to submit tutorial ideas. [3/23/2006 3:33 PM] <cormaggio> i still don't really see the point in that by the way sj.. [3/23/2006 3:33 PM] <brassratgirl> At the very least, we need to contact the people that have already proposed workshops to put in a formal proposal. [3/23/2006 3:33 PM] <cormaggio> that they are last minute that is [3/23/2006 3:33 PM] <_sj_> right. [3/23/2006 3:33 PM] <brassratgirl> cormaggio - how do you mean? [3/23/2006 3:34 PM] <cormaggio> why do tutorials have to be set now? [3/23/2006 3:34 PM] <brassratgirl> well, we can always push the deadline back. [3/23/2006 3:34 PM] <cormaggio> i mean, was there areason? [3/23/2006 3:34 PM] <brassratgirl> I don't want to make it too late, and not later than the paper deadline.. [3/23/2006 3:34 PM] <_sj_> cormaggio: they take a bit more planning; and hog space/time a bit more. [3/23/2006 3:34 PM] <cormaggio> ok just wondering [3/23/2006 3:35 PM] <brassratgirl> we were also trying to stagger the paper reviewing. [3/23/2006 3:35 PM] <cormaggio> yeah that takes time [3/23/2006 3:35 PM] <brassratgirl> so not everything came at once. that may or may not be realistic. [3/23/2006 3:35 PM] <_sj_> I mean, if people have a good workshop idea... [3/23/2006 3:35 PM] <_sj_> it shouldn't take them long to write up a few paras about it. [3/23/2006 3:35 PM] <brassratgirl> cormaggio: what are you thinking? [3/23/2006 3:35 PM] <brassratgirl> (would be better) [3/23/2006 3:36 PM] <Amgine> _sj_, I could write up proposals all day; but ones I'm actually willing to commit to doing are a different story. [3/23/2006 3:36 PM] <_sj_> amgine: right. [3/23/2006 3:36 PM] <cormaggio> ok, but if someone has a ping idea in say april, will we have to say no, but you've already indicated that we might accept it, yes? [3/23/2006 3:36 PM] <_sj_> I mean, people who are willing to run a tutorial, and reminded of a pending deadline, shouldn't need a long time to write up their idea. [3/23/2006 3:37 PM] <_sj_> cormac : we can solicit speakers later, but it won't be through the standard submission process. [3/23/2006 3:37 PM] <_sj_> we could also solicit tutorials/workshops from the list that haven't been submitted. [3/23/2006 3:37 PM] <cormaggio> ok [3/23/2006 3:37 PM] <_sj_> but our set of workshops/tutorials should be pretty much set by april. [3/23/2006 3:38 PM] <_sj_> any thoughts about the website design / page ideas, btw? [3/23/2006 3:38 PM] <cormaggio> (i meant to say a ping idea in may but anyhow..) [3/23/2006 3:38 PM] <_sj_> :-) [3/23/2006 3:38 PM] <_sj_> pig? [3/23/2006 3:38 PM] <_sj_> ping? [3/23/2006 3:38 PM] <cormaggio> lightbulb flashing y'know [3/23/2006 3:38 PM] <_sj_> ahh, right [3/23/2006 3:39 PM] <cormaggio> ok moving on [3/23/2006 3:39 PM] <Amgine> ??? PROFIT [3/23/2006 3:39 PM] <_sj_> hey spui ;) [3/23/2006 3:40 PM] <_sj_> other workshop comments? we can talk more about that on the workshops section later, for people who can help ping specific projects and wikiprojects [3/23/2006 3:40 PM] <brassratgirl> Re: workshops [3/23/2006 3:40 PM] <cormaggio> was one of our research ideas a workshop? [3/23/2006 3:40 PM] -->| angaway (i=tim@cust3058.vic01.dataco.com.au) has joined #wikimania [3/23/2006 3:40 PM] |<-- Angela has left freenode () [3/23/2006 3:40 PM] <brassratgirl> for community members especially, we can work with people to make a good workshop [3/23/2006 3:40 PM] =-= angaway is now known as Angela [3/23/2006 3:41 PM] <brassratgirl> but it will take extra time [3/23/2006 3:41 PM] <_sj_> brg: yes. and someone will have to be in charge of that collaboration [3/23/2006 3:42 PM] <brassratgirl> and we need to get people who have cool ideas and are willing to teach, or demonstrate, to think about what they could do [3/23/2006 3:43 PM] <_sj_> (or look now to find someone to help them pull it off, if they have a great idea they can't teach on their own) [3/23/2006 3:43 PM] <brassratgirl> so if someone does have a good idea, and they're enthusiastic, but don't know how to go about putting a submission together, I think we should be willing to help those people - but that will take extra time [3/23/2006 3:43 PM] -->| andicat (n=andicat@user-1121ghi.dsl.mindspring.com) has joined #wikimania [3/23/2006 3:43 PM] <brassratgirl> cormaggio: yes, research = "workshop" [3/23/2006 3:43 PM] <Angela> That should be mentioned in the next announcements that go out about it. [3/23/2006 3:43 PM] <ngb> brg: It's definitely worth doing, though, I think. [3/23/2006 3:43 PM] <cormaggio> ok, so..? [3/23/2006 3:43 PM] <brassratgirl> though really more of a bof [3/23/2006 3:44 PM] <_sj_> angela: a good point. [3/23/2006 3:44 PM] <cormaggio> bof, remind me [3/23/2006 3:44 PM] <_sj_> (hey andi) [3/23/2006 3:44 PM] <brassratgirl> cormac: jamesf agreed tentatively to moderate [3/23/2006 3:44 PM] <ngb> Since it may well encourage people who wouldn't otherwise submit workshops to do so., [3/23/2006 3:44 PM] <andicat> (sorry so late...) [3/23/2006 3:44 PM] <brassratgirl> and we need to round up the likely people who would attend such a thing, and talk about what we might do [3/23/2006 3:45 PM] <brassratgirl> birds-of-a-feather, aka discussion session [3/23/2006 3:45 PM] <_sj_> (andi : we're finishing talk about sending out an announcement re: workshops; then at the last two items here - http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania_2006/Planning#Agenda ) [3/23/2006 3:45 PM] <cormaggio> brassratgirl - great jamesF is on this - was this the researcher's panel though or a workshop on doing research? [3/23/2006 3:45 PM] <cormaggio> sorry for asking the same question over again [3/23/2006 3:45 PM] <Amgine> I have someone interested in doing two items, a GPG workshop, and a talk on mediation theory and practice. [3/23/2006 3:46 PM] <cormaggio> what's GPG? [3/23/2006 3:46 PM] <brassratgirl> cormac - no, it's ok - I keep getting confused :) that was the researcher's panel. [3/23/2006 3:46 PM] <_sj_> cormac: I believe the moderation was for a panel. [3/23/2006 3:46 PM] <_sj_> and the bof ideas are for another discussion. [3/23/2006 3:46 PM] <cormaggio> grand [3/23/2006 3:46 PM] <Amgine> cormaggio: It's a GNU implementation of pgp encryption. [3/23/2006 3:46 PM] <_sj_> amgine: great. )cormac - privacy/encryption( [3/23/2006 3:47 PM] <brassratgirl> _sj_ - actually, jamesf & I mostly talked about the discussion end of things, not a panel per se [3/23/2006 3:47 PM] <brassratgirl> sorry for being unclear. [3/23/2006 3:47 PM] <_sj_> ah, ok [3/23/2006 3:47 PM] <_sj_> can we move on to a website & speaker update? [3/23/2006 3:47 PM] <Amgine> Here's the problem though; this particular presenter may have difficulty attending without financial support. [3/23/2006 3:47 PM] <brassratgirl> cormaggio - workshop on doing research -- research like on the site, or research like library research? [3/23/2006 3:48 PM] <_sj_> amgine : they should submit, at any rate. [3/23/2006 3:48 PM] <Amgine> <nod> That's what I'm pushing them to do. [3/23/2006 3:48 PM] <_sj_> (cormac : someone should definitely lead a research workshop) [3/23/2006 3:49 PM] <cormaggio> yes, now I'm confused though [3/23/2006 3:49 PM] <cormaggio> but i agree, we should do it [3/23/2006 3:49 PM] <cormaggio> if noone else wants to organise it, i certainly will [3/23/2006 3:49 PM] <_sj_> ok. we can clarify on-list, later. [3/23/2006 3:49 PM] <cormaggio> yes [3/23/2006 3:49 PM] <_sj_> we can also skip the main-page-architecture agenda item... [3/23/2006 3:49 PM] <_sj_> http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Brassratgirl/Main#Main_Page_Architecture [3/23/2006 3:49 PM] <brassratgirl> ha :) I think I 'm going to start a sep. page about "the research workshop", just to get this clarified. [3/23/2006 3:50 PM] <_sj_> but I draw people's attention to that old proposal, above. [3/23/2006 3:50 PM] <brassratgirl> cormaggio - if you want to submit the formal proposal, that'd be grand :) let's talk about it this weekend. [3/23/2006 3:50 PM] <cormaggio> brassratgirl - thanks :-) [3/23/2006 3:50 PM] <andicat> (cormac: also needs clarification wrt research traditions.. there are a lot of assumptions out there) [3/23/2006 3:50 PM] <cormaggio> nod [3/23/2006 3:50 PM] <_sj_> comments (on the talk page of the new site : http://wikimania2006.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Main_Page ) are welcome. [3/23/2006 3:50 PM] <brassratgirl> we need a controlled vocabulary. :P [3/23/2006 3:51 PM] <_sj_> (hah) final point: speaker invite updates [3/23/2006 3:51 PM] <brassratgirl> re: website - there are many pages that need to be built, that can be started wihtout a lot of information. some of them are on the to-do list. [3/23/2006 3:51 PM] <ngb> SJ: Something it's worth noting is that the CFP there needs to be updated with its translations. [3/23/2006 3:51 PM] <brassratgirl> (like all about Boston, or whatnot) [3/23/2006 3:51 PM] <_sj_> (right) [3/23/2006 3:51 PM] <brassratgirl> ngb - v. true, thanks. [3/23/2006 3:51 PM] * reagleBRKLN has to go soon, but web site org looks good, and wonder if acceptances will be reflected on http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania_2006/Program_ideas [3/23/2006 3:51 PM] <_sj_> ngb: yes! thx. [3/23/2006 3:52 PM] <_sj_> angela: any word from jens redmer? [3/23/2006 3:52 PM] <Angela> No, sorry. I've not contacted him yet. [3/23/2006 3:52 PM] <_sj_> joe: yes (probably a new section at top) [3/23/2006 3:52 PM] <reagleBRKLN> _sj_: OK [3/23/2006 3:52 PM] <_sj_> np. I can send you a copy of some invite letter text, if that would help. [3/23/2006 3:53 PM] <brassratgirl> re: cfp,you probably mentioned this earlier, but the meta one is best for translation, as it has the small conference introduction. [3/23/2006 3:53 PM] <Angela> Sj: that would be useful. thanks. [3/23/2006 3:53 PM] <_sj_> a short-list of the people we agreed on last week from FK and sociology have been invited this week; no acceptances yet. [3/23/2006 3:54 PM] <andicat> any declines or just no accepts? [3/23/2006 3:54 PM] <_sj_> though britannica's jorge cauz wrote back pleasantly [3/23/2006 3:54 PM] <Amgine> Said no? [3/23/2006 3:54 PM] <_sj_> tim berners-lee had to decline last week. [3/23/2006 3:54 PM] <_sj_> no, not a direct response. [3/23/2006 3:54 PM] <cormaggio> which sociology people have you invited so far? [3/23/2006 3:55 PM] <cormaggio> top four? [3/23/2006 3:55 PM] <brassratgirl> cormaggio - we're working off the list from last week, yeah [3/23/2006 3:55 PM] <cormaggio> k [3/23/2006 3:55 PM] <_sj_> right. wellman, donath, preece, Kiesler [3/23/2006 3:55 PM] <_sj_> any other updates atm? [3/23/2006 3:55 PM] <cormaggio> and just as a matter of interest - how long before we go for "round two"? [3/23/2006 3:56 PM] <brassratgirl> I don't think we'd decided yet - [3/23/2006 3:56 PM] <_sj_> I'm still working on better law and tech lists (and other people to help with those themes) for suggestion to invite next week [3/23/2006 3:57 PM] <cormaggio> brassratgirl - i'm just wondering what's reasonable timeframe - i've no idea myself.. [3/23/2006 3:57 PM] <neuralis> _sj_: tbl declined or didn't? [3/23/2006 3:57 PM] <brassratgirl> we can start soon though, I think.. [3/23/2006 3:57 PM] <_sj_> we should probably move on to round two, w/each theme, after around two weeks. [3/23/2006 3:57 PM] <brassratgirl> neuralis: sadly, yes [3/23/2006 3:57 PM] <reagleBRKLN> drats (on timbl) [3/23/2006 3:57 PM] <brassratgirl> I know. It's too bad. Apparently he has some other conference. [3/23/2006 3:57 PM] <brassratgirl> Doesn't know what he's missing, clearly. [3/23/2006 3:58 PM] <_sj_> (it was general travel; not sure it was a conference.) [3/23/2006 3:58 PM] <brassratgirl> ah, ok. [3/23/2006 3:58 PM] <neuralis> hmph. [3/23/2006 3:58 PM] |<-- reagleBRKLN has left freenode (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer)) [3/23/2006 3:58 PM] <_sj_> ok, that's all for this agenda [3/23/2006 3:59 PM] <_sj_> please post thoughts for next week's agenda on the meetings page [3/23/2006 3:59 PM] <brassratgirl> are we having a publicity session now, or later? [3/23/2006 3:59 PM] -->| brian0918 (i=brian091@69-168-139-28.clvdoh.adelphia.net) has joined #wikimania [3/23/2006 3:59 PM] <_sj_> I'll be distributing workshop notes, just in english [3/23/2006 3:59 PM] <cormaggio> sj - on "two weeks" - does that give enough time for people to make up their minds - or does that matter much at all? [3/23/2006 3:59 PM] <_sj_> to projecsts now [3/23/2006 4:00 PM] <Angela> Brassratgirl: I'd suggest later since different people might want to come to that meeting. [3/23/2006 4:00 PM] <_sj_> cormac : people should be able to let us know what their constraints are [3/23/2006 4:00 PM] <brassratgirl> angela: ok [3/23/2006 4:00 PM] <_sj_> we don't have to discard people who don't know, but if they can't even respond, we shouldn't count on them [3/23/2006 4:00 PM] <brassratgirl> any particular time in mind? _sj_? [3/23/2006 4:00 PM] <cormaggio> right - 2 weeks so [3/23/2006 4:00 PM] <_sj_> brg: could you put up a log from sunday's meeting, for people who weren't there (about paper review & indico use) [3/23/2006 4:01 PM] <brassratgirl> of course. [3/23/2006 4:01 PM] <brassratgirl> my apologies about not getting the notes up, will try & be more timely. [3/23/2006 4:01 PM] <cormaggio> that would be good [3/23/2006 4:01 PM] <_sj_> angela: perhaps sometime after the communication committee meeting? [3/23/2006 4:01 PM] <_sj_> since it will be on the agenda there as well. [3/23/2006 4:01 PM] <brassratgirl> cormaggio: when are you free to talk about a research workshop? or shall I just email you? [3/23/2006 4:01 PM] <Amgine> _sj_: I have two questions related to Wikimania: When are the hacking days scheduled, and is Rebecca McKinnon's event solidly scheduled yet? [3/23/2006 4:02 PM] <cormaggio> oh sorry brassratgirl - i wasn't saying it "would be good" to be more timely :-) [3/23/2006 4:02 PM] <Amgine> brg: I think you're doing well now! I don't know if it'll be enough notice for some people, but you could try. [3/23/2006 4:02 PM] <brassratgirl> when's the comm committee meeting? [3/23/2006 4:03 PM] <Amgine> Saturday.
