Wikidata for all

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

The Wikidata For All Project is one of our drives to improve Nigerian contents and increase wikidata's participation in the country. The project will focuses on training all interested persons on how to query as well as how to add content on Wikidata.

Background[edit]

The idea of the project came to us during the 2019 WikiIndaba conference where we realized that the number of Nigerian content on Wikidata is very low and it was mostly primarily because the majority of Wikimedia editors in our community are not familiar with the Wikidata Project. Hence we, the Igbo Wikimedians User Group decided to embark on this project with the aim of increasing Wikidata's participation, Promoting integration between Wikidata and other Wikimedia projects as well as improve Nigerian content on Wikidata.

A four day series of workshop was planned and the First workshop was done on the 8th of March 2020 but due to the current Covid-19 crisis, all physical meetups/workshops had to be suspended and so in other not to let the idea die down, we decided to take the workshop online.
