(a-multi) Changed the colors. Now there is more varity and is not just Wikimedia colors.

(a with u) This could be a good way to bring the jigsaw theme in without too much re-branding. The jigsaw piece could be the favcon.--HereToHelp (talk) 13:29, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

a-jigsaw-only for easier localisation

Current discussion

- i2 is too centric on music and math with it's cover symbols. I added a version with a bigger jigsaw and removed the "Wikibooks" text: a-jigsaw-only --Matthias 07:35, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't like the jigsaw ideas, makes Wikibooks look like it's centric on writing puzzle books. Also the jigsaw doesn't really fit in with the design of any of these proposals, it looks plastered on top rather then part of the design. I think a book cover that looks like it was made of many different pieces of paper or fabric with different designs, would do a better job of symbolizing that books are made up of many contributions. The jigjaw just doesn't do it for me. It looks out of place. --darklama 14:10, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I don't really like any of these proposal A ones. They're kind of cliparty, not very dynamic or fresh. Oh and I agree with the 'puzzlebook' concern above. --Mcld 20:45, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with Mcld's "Clip Art" statement. Νεοπτόλεμος 10:50, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't like any of these proposals. Agree with Mcld. --Pietrodn · talk with me 13:03, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- (a+i2) is definitely wrong way since it recalls WinRAR icons. So is (but little less) (a+i3) or (a+i4).
— Danny B. 01:38, 5 May 2008 (UTC) - I think the best from this proposals is i2 but it is a bit "poor". Others are not logo-like. --Ramac 12:51, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- If any, pick a. I think its time for a radical change though, so I'd rather see something completely different win. Tkgd2007 00:58, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- About the favicon; looks way too similar to Wikipedia's favicon, which is also a W. PiemanXC 21:43, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- (a with u) Alex Spade 21:58, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- I have never cared for (a). (a-multi) is an improvement and looks good with other Foundation icons (see below), but I do not like the atomic symbol on the top book. (a with u) is an improvement in symbolism over (a), but I'd rather see it multicolored. The color scheme of (i3) clashes badly with other Foundation icons (see below) and the shape of (i2) and (i3) do not work well, either with the others. (i3), except for its color, is a better choice than (i2) for the reasons mentioned above. All in all, I don't really like any of these. --Willscrlt (Talk) 02:00, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- I don't like this logo category. Each proposal of Category D is far better. -- RaminusFalcon «…» («it.wikipedia») 07:23, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- (a-multi) is the best, different colors shows variety, the atom looks good on the front book, and it fits well among the other project icons. Sean gorter 10:20, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- (a with u) It evoke the complimentary with Wikipedia. --Gdgourou 10:59, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- (a multi) Wikimedia needs more colour! 86.29.138.156 11:59, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- The general tone of conversation seems to be against these proposals, so how about removing this batch from the remaining candidates? --Mcld 11:13, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Second that. — H92 (t · c · no) 13:41, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Wikibooks has been around for five years and there are some that like atoms. an dthat would to keep this logo. Zginder
- There is nothing wrong with the original icon. It is conservative and yet recognizable. Changing it would only cause consternation for those looking for it. Whoever is behind all of these proposals has way too much time on their hands. Paper dragon 06:31, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'll support (a-multi), the advantages are the it brings the old icon in par with the other Wikimedia projects icons without losing it's identifiability and preserving the intrinsic value of having a logo/brand. --Panic 23:43, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- I think that would be the best one to have i like the blue because the some of wikimedia logo and hyplinks are blue. [[User:l32007|Luke]
- A-multi, brings a little more lifein to the project. 86.153.181.196
- However, it doesn't look good in a big group. Just so ya know, the previous comment and I are akira-otomo on wikibooks. 86.153.181.196 11:31, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- (a)I like this most, it's good enough. Simple and pretty.--Dingar 05:02, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
