DESCRIPTION

Wikimedia Rwanda Wiki Clubs is a collaborative project initiated by Wikimedia Rwanda aimed at fostering knowledge creation and dissemination among students in the Gicumbi district of Rwanda. The project will be implemented in three schools, namely GS Gaseke, GS Nyinawimana and Kageyo TSS, where students actively participate in wiki clubs.

Objectives

• To empower students to actively contribute to the Kinyarwanda Wikipedia.
• Enrich Kinyarwanda Wikipedia content: Expand and diversify content on Rwandan topics, ensuring cultural preservation and knowledge accessibility.
• To enhance digital literacy and research skills among students.
• Increase student engagement with Kinyarwanda Wikipedia: Develop critical reading and writing skills through Wikipedia exploration and contribution.
• Promote open knowledge: Cultivate a sense of ownership and responsibility for online information, empowering students as digital citizens.
