Wiki World's Fair
The Wiki World's Fair is a proposed vision of a future universal exposition in New York City as a liminal encyclopedic outdoor festival that encompasses the internationalism, free knowledge sharing and human-centered technology of the Wiki Way.
For venue, we plan on the 1939/1964 fairgrounds at Flushing Meadows–Corona Park, and with the participation of numerous New City City civic and cultural institutions, as well as global partners. In the 21st century, this site has also been home to Maker Faire.
Prototypes of this event were held in association with Wikimania 2012 and 2022, and it is planned to hold it at full-scale for the 400th anniversary of New York City in 2024/25. This may be as part of Wikimania or alternatively as part of WikiConference North America.
