• English: 5 (Fluent) • Greek: Native (Native) • French: 4 (Advanced) • German 1 (Beginner)
- Regional experiences:
My experiences in Cyprus, a region characterized by its complex socio-political landscape and rich cultural diversity, have profoundly shaped my approach to promoting gender equity and inclusion. In 2019, I published Women in Conflict Zones, a book that documented the stories of women from all communities of Cyprus. This project provided me with deep insights into the unique challenges faced by women in regions marked by conflict and division, and it underscored the importance of ensuring that their voices are heard and their experiences are recorded.
These regional experiences have not only deepened my understanding of the barriers women face in contributing to digital knowledge platforms but have also equipped me with practical strategies for overcoming these challenges. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for women editors in Cyprus, I have learned the importance of culturally sensitive approaches and the need for community-specific initiatives to effectively address global issues like gender representation. My goal is to bring these insights to the WikiWomen Collective, contributing to a more nuanced and effective global strategy for promoting gender equity on Wikimedia platforms.
- Personal Statement:
When I was invited to participate in the #WikiGap event in Cyprus in 2018, I observed firsthand the significant underrepresentation of women both as contributors and as subjects on Wikimedia platforms. This experience was a catalyst for my commitment to addressing these disparities. Recognizing the need for a local, focused effort to bridge the gender gap, I founded the Wikimedia Community User Group Cyprus, which was formally recognized in 2024. Through this group, I have worked to recruit and support women from various communities in Cyprus to become active contributors to Wikimedia, thereby helping to ensure that the diverse stories of women in this region are adequately represented.

- What specific skills or experiences can you contribute to the WikiWomen Collective?
I bring a blend of experiences and skills that align closely with the mission of the WikiWomen Collectiveː
- Founder of the Wikimedia Community User Group Cyprus. I have firsthand experience in building and leading initiatives focused on gender equality within the Wikimedia community.

These skills and experiences will allow me to contribute meaningfully to the collective’s efforts to bridge the gender gap on Wikimedia.
- What are your goals for participating in the WikiWomen Collective?
My primary goal for participating in the WikiWomen Collective is to contribute to the collective's efforts. I aim to leverage my experience in DEI and Human-Computer Interaction to develop and implement strategies that make it easier for women to contribute to Wikimedia, ensuring that their stories and perspectives are well-represented. Additionally, I hope to collaborate with other members of the collective to exchange ideas, share best practices, and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for women within the Wikimedia community.

When selected, I will channel all my efforts toward achieving this goal.
Considerations for Personal Statement
- Why do you want to join the WikiWomen Collective?
- Since joining Wikimedia in late 2019, I have been contributing randomly without a specific direction and goal. However, I found my purpose recently; after organizing the She Said campaign in Northern Nigeria. I see a lot of enthusiasm from the women like never before from our male participants (even though most of them are elderly - 30 years and above). The readiness to learn, the zeal to contribute, the pride of being involved. I aspire to pursue this.

- What are your goals for participating in the WikiWomen Collective?
- To bring about equality, engagement, and inclusion for women, especially among minority or less privileged communities. To also create an enabling and welcoming for women and other genders.

- Regional experiences: Since 2022, I've had an impactful regional experience starting as a female Nigerian editor, creating over 500 articles on African women bridging content gaps about these women in entertainment, sports, education, and sciences.
Notably, I emerged as the top contributor to African women in education project. I have also co-facilitated various Wikimedia projects, including promoting Wikimedia in Akure and Wiki Health Articles in Nigeria. Additionally, I supported female Nigerians new to the Wikimedia movement, encouraging community engagement and participation.
Through my contributions, I have witnessed a significant increase in engagement and awareness about African women's achievements, demonstrating the power of inclusive content. This experience has sharpened my skills and empowered me to become a vocal advocate for African women's representation, driving meaningful change through inclusive content.
- Personal Statement:
Considerations for Personal Statement
- Why do you want to join the WikiWomen Collective?
- During my involvement with Wikimedia projects, I identified a concerning gap in women's contributions. Despite extensive publicity, only 1 in 20 women attended physical training sessions I co-facilitated. Furthermore, I observed underrepresentation of women in leadership positions, with only 10% holding such roles. Recognizing this disparity as a pressing issue, I am eager to join the WikiWomen collective. As a woman myself, I am committed to bridging this gender gap and advocating for greater inclusion of women in Wikimedia projects. Through this collective committee, I aim to contribute to creating a more equitable and representative environment, empowering women to actively participate and lead in these projects.
- What specific skills or experiences can you contribute to the WikiWomen Collective?
- My relevant experiences and skill include lab organizer rights, outreach dashboard creation and training editors on bridging content gap about women, coordination and logistics aspects of projects.
- What are your goals for participating in the WikiWomen Collective?
- 1. Introducing women into the Wikimedia movement
- 2. Advocating for women who had faced prejudice due to their gender in the course of their contribution
- 3. Enhance my leadership skills on Wiki projects and network with wiki women in a global perspective

- Regional experiences: VRT agent, WMRU member (the organization is still in the process of liquidation), NWR-Hist usergroup active member, ex-sysop, a bot owner and an active user of Russian Wikipedia with more than 170k edits and ~3700 articles, ~700 of which are biographies of women (also I wrote about Ireland and write a lot about architecture of my native Saint Petersburg). I participated in the first WikiWomenCamp, visited Diversity Conference in Berlin, after that, I had a long wiki-break during which I worked with fem- and LGBT- projects, psychological help to elderly people and special children (I continue to be a part of such activities). After returning to Wikipedia I took part in the organization of Feminism and Folklore 2024, won Editatón Mujeres en las ciencias and the Wikimania 2024 contest (with articles only about women), wrote articles for CEE Spring 2024/Hall of Fame only about women. I recently found that not even only my home community but the Foundation's staff still don't really prioritize gender-related requests.
- Personal Statement: I believe that here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place and want to try more and not alone. I have some restrictions as a citizen of my country, it can prevent me from telling something on-wiki, but also it's a motivation to do more.
Considerations for Personal Statement
- Why do you want to join the WikiWomen Collective?
- The gap task is unsolvable alone, and I miss being part of a team. Together we can do more.
- What specific skills or experiences can you contribute to the WikiWomen Collective?
- I am a psychologist with an expirience in work in elderly houses, children's rehabilitation, personal and group psychological help. I have wiki-related technical skills a bit higher than average. And I have a long experience as a woman in Wikipedia; I think all of it can be helpful.
- What are your goals for participating in the WikiWomen Collective?
- I want to be an active agent of changes.
- But it is a mission, to be strict, the goal should be concrete and measured; so the nearest goal is to be more deeply than now (as was listed in expirience section) involved in processes of removing the gap in the nearest year and to hold a content challenge that will be more successful than mentioned earlier Feminism and Folklore 2024 for Russian; if I will see the real opportunity to do more, I'll be glad to use it.

For someone like me who grew up in a kibbutz (-a very small community of people who know each other in person), community was always an important part of my life. We have a strong community of editors here in Israel that meet in person, and that is part of the reason that I am the Wikiwoman that I am today. When I started editing in Wikipedia, it was important for me to bring my own voice and work to minimize the gender gap. I always try to encourage more women to be an active editor. Once a year, we have an edit-a-thon, Art+feminism. More than 20 women come to edit every year (in average), more than 20 new articles are being create every year, and many edits are done. I always try to take care of the gender gap, in my way, and encourage more women to take an active part in the different Wikimedia projects. By creating an existing, supporting community for women we strive to reduce the gender gap and make the Hebrew Wikipedia a warm place for women writing. The just concluded WikiConference Nigeria made me think about a lot of contributions, ideas that we can implement to make things better and the gender gap is a topic the world always talks about. I would love to be a part of this great impact we're about to make while representing not just the women in Nigeria but every woman that exists. This is an opportunity for me to build gender gap as well so I'm here to take up a part of the responsibility.

One of the projects I'd love to birth as a part of the WikiWomen Collective is it I'd call WikiWomen Collaborate which will be divided into two - WikiWomen Creates and WikiWomen Edits. This project will foster a stronger wiki environment, will birth several more articles where we can translate articles of each other's culture, practices, or developments into our community Wikipedia Pages. This will also enables us reach more women which will depict inclusivity and as well increase the number of articles created by women per year if made an annual engagement. This is just one of the great ways I can create an impact. I look forward to bringing more and better ideas to WikiWomem Collective.
Leadership skill and how to manage followers is a part of the experiences I have as I've been made to manage several duties in various capacities.
