Welcome to the Wiki Student Summit 2025 Edition!
The Wiki Student Summit 2025 is a vibrant international gathering bringing together a diverse community of students, educators, researchers, and open-knowledge enthusiasts from around the world. Its roots trace back to the first edition held in 2023 at the Dodoma region, where pioneering participants laid the groundwork for an inclusive and collaborative conference.
A year later, the second edition in Arusha (2024) refined this approach, expanding the summit’s reach and strengthening global partnerships. Building on these successes, the 2025 edition aims to foster even deeper collaboration, encourage the sharing of cultural and academic resources, and accelerate the growth of Wikimedia projects. Through interactive workshops, keynote sessions, and panel discussions, attendees will explore best practices in online collaboration, content creation, and community-building.
Dedicated to bridging content gaps and championing inclusivity, this year’s summit places a strong emphasis on welcoming newcomers and underrepresented groups. Whether participants are veteran contributors to Wikipedia, Wikidata, and other Wikimedia projects, or complete beginners to the open-knowledge movement, the event will provide the knowledge, tools, and networks needed to make meaningful contributions.
