Switzerland official languages are German (63.7 %), French (20.4 %), Italian (6.5 %), Romansh[1] (0.5 %). Wikimedia CH is the country's national chapter.[1].

It is unknown how many Switzerland contributor to German, French, Italian, and Romansh Wikipedia. While German (3rd), French (6th), and Italian (7th) are in the top ten wikipedias, the Romansh Wikipedia rank 183 out of 280 languages Wikipedia with 5 active users (more than five edits per month) and 0 very active users (more than 100 edits per months). In December 2011, there were 6,180 people and 2,480 women of all ages from Switzerland who were interested in Wikipedia on Facebook.[2] There are 3 articles about women's association football clubs in this country on English Wikipedia.

The Foundation

The Foundation and Wikimedia CH in 2011 sign a fund raising agreement, channeling some of the funding received from Switzerland based donation back to the chapter. During the December 2011 fundraising appeal, no Swiss, men or women, were featured as part of the appeal. During the 2011 Summer of Research, the WMF hired eight research fellows. Of these, only one was female, and she was from the United States. There were four males from American universities, The other researchers included men from a Japanese university, a Swiss university and a Canadian university. There were no female research fellows from this country.
