Abstract (up to 300 words to describe your proposal)

Wikimedia Affiliates have grown steadily over the years and dramatically in Africa over the past 5 years. This only augers well for the movement. We conducted a survey in September 2018 to collect Affiliates data and to better understand the make-up of Affiliates. We learned some interesting insights about Affiliates in general and African Affiliates in particular, and we would love to share these with the community.

We would also like to explore more about the Affiliates ecosystem as it relates to Africa and how African Affiliates can participate to make a more diverse ecosystem.
