Abstract:
It is often said that unity is strength, and nowhere is this more evident than in the diversity of the budding Wikimedia community in Zimbabwe. We have come together to celebrate our shared passion for knowledge sharing and collaboration, recognize and embrace the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents that each of us brings to the table with one goal in mind. We come from different backgrounds, speak different languages, and have different areas of expertise and it is this very diversity that gives us our strength to continue to grow, coming together sharing our knowledge and learning from one another, we are able to create a richer, more comprehensive body of knowledge that benefits not only our community but the world at large. This presentation focuses on the community efforts of the Zimbabwean team. We joined the Wikimedia family in 2021 and we are a community led team and not yet a user group and we have participated in many campaigns. We have had our ups and downs and we continue to soldier on. One of the positives is that the community continues to grow. |
