Abstract:

I will give throught this poster the statistics, different projects and the results of 9 years of the Wiki Loves women initiative by Wiki In Africa. The Wiki Loves Women project is a global initiative designed to address the gender gap on Wikipedia by increasing the representation of women-related topics and contributors. It encourages individuals to contribute high-quality images and content about women's achievements, history, and culture, making the online encyclopedia more inclusive and diverse.

The initiative comprises three distinct projects that work collectively:

The #SheSaid campaign: A global initiative that aims to amplify women's voices by sharing their quotes and stories. The Focus Group: A practical, action-oriented, mentored online training program that provides skills and knowledge transfer. It is specifically designed to support community leaders in creating gender-equity programs and drives within the Wikimedia and Open movements. The ISA Tell Us About Her campaign: An annual campaign that aims to enhance the descriptions of women's photographs uploaded on Wikimedia Commons. By doing so, Wiki Loves Women celebrates women across various themes and highlights their contributions and achievements using the ISA tool.
