Abstract:
At Creative Commons, we truly believe in the power of open access to cultural heritage. This type of better sharing helps build and sustain vibrant and thriving societies. Creative Commons licenses are an important tool for openly sharing digital collections. Learn more about how they work, and how you can use them to help your collections reach wider audiences online. The presentation will include findings from case studies on open access from low-capacity, non-Western institutions and the unique challenges they face. Bukola James and Esther Nganga will speak about their involvement in the Open Culture movement, and efforts to promote open culture in Africa.> |
