Abstract:
There are several photography contests organized every year within the Wikimedia movement. However in community where outreach activities tend to focus on training more Wikipedia editors, it can be difficult to engage photographers, especially professional photographers to take part in those competitions. It is necessary to put in place a well thought strategy before, during and after the contest in order to convince them to join and make their experience as easy as possible. Involving professional photographers can highly benefit the community and increase the chances of the country winning international prize as they more likely to submit quality pictures.
