Report on the Participation of RebeccaRwanda at WikiIndaba 2023 in Agadir, Morocco
Overview
[edit]Provide insights into your participation at the conference, including details about your contributions, experiences, and noteworthy encounters.
Wikiindaba Agadir was one of the best Wikiindaba conference I have attended , the program arrangement topic selected especially Day one was chosen wisely and it was of importance to the Wikimedia Movements either participants or staffs it was efficient for newbies and as well experienced people in the movement , again my travel experience was good because for example we who came from EAST Africa it was a long journey with many transit and many hours as well this could be crazy tiresome , but the organizes made sure that however coming from far away will get in Morocco on Time and get sometime to rest before the conference I am not sure if this was applied to everyone , but according to me was a good choice and carefully thought of Thanks and Kudos for Morocco organizes.
Outcome
[edit]What significant learning or outcome do you take away from your participation?
I got enough chance to learn Yes I learnt about community growth , how I as a woman I can impact my community with skills
I have about the movement projects what my role and responsibility? I learnt that I don't need to be an expert to be able to share free knowledge
and contribute is in different forms there's many ways to contribute not just writing many great articles or uploading good quality Images as most of us think that this is the only contribution some can do , this will help me to welcome and facilitate each member in may community laggardness their areas of expertise , a Mother , a girls , an adult young people around the world communities can contribute according to their talents and with whatever they have got in life.
Impact
[edit]What impact the conference had on you and community plans, and what actions will you undertake to share learnings with your community?
I learnt about documentation, uuuh Yes many people is not easy to read documents even to prepare , that is the case in my community especially when it comes to MCDC, Governance Movement charter etc. but as far as I know this and I understood what it is and how it important for an affiliate , user group, or individual to take a part in decision making , this will Impact my Community through me it easy to introduce all this for those people who are eager and willing to move from underrepresented to champions in the movement. this will take time yes, after alll we have to grow organically but the future of the best Movement in The World in our hands.
