Project Description

[edit]

The editors who build the Wiki projects work hard all the time, and it would be better if they had a place to come and go, to have conversations, to discuss certain stuff. See, for example, in Major projects such as Wikipedia, It's mainly official things that we discuss about, but in wikihome, we can create discussion subpages for editors to hangout in....Where they can talk about themselves and about how they are holding out with their life... and maybe we can make Only-administrator accessed pages where they can make decisions secretly without attracting other user's. This can be the main headquarters of the wiki-projects... A place where we can store Archive's and memories.

How an administrator discussion would be

[edit]

There would of course be an example page, added later on...

  • The discussion would have all the details about the subject entered, and with a user verification sensor (like used in huggle) to see if the user is an admin or not. This page would be only accesible to administrators
  • The discussions can be archived and even when archived it can only be viewed by an administrator.'
  • The discussions can be viewed by extended-confirm users, only if they are approved by an admin
  • These discussions will have a bot each which will check all the activity 24 hours.
  • An administrator who will be an outsider to the discussion will check activity and progression once a week, if not edited, the discussion will be closed and severly protected until a respective admin from the discussion willl open it again.

Rules of the admin discussion

[edit]
  • Inappopriate language cannot be exchanged by user's in the discussion.
  • The discussions must be only made if it is related to work in a wiki.
  • The discussions should be archived, or automatically archived by a bot.
  • the checking admin should leave his comments and an Approved Approved tag on the talk page.
  • the discussion must be maintained very well.

How a hangout would work

[edit]
  • example here
  • A bot will check a hangout every 24 hours, any hangout which includes inappopriate language will be banned or given a warning.
  • A hangout which is not edited in more than a month would be closed automatically, It can be opened again at anytime, but if it is not edited within 6 months, it would be closed under another policy and it will only be opened if approved by an admin.
  • If the chat is active, the status tag would be changed to green
  • if the chat is closed the status would be changed to Yellow
  • If the chat is banned the status would be changed to red

rules of a hangout

[edit]
  • the policy line of a hangout must never be crossed
  • The hangouts must be well maintained
  • A new message must be written by using this format '!| Hey there! ArepTicous talkcontribs 14:54, 8 May 2019 (UTC)'[reply]
  • If a new user joins, welcome him, dont chase him away... if you want him/her gone, please give a {{removed|reason here}} template. This template will be added later on.
  • The discussion can be anything you want, but advertising and vandalism is not accepted, any user who vandalises or advertises, must be removed immediately.
  • A hangout could only be made by an autoconfirmed userand above.
  • An admin hangout would have protection due to vandalism.

Goals of this project

[edit]
  • to prevent the other wiki's from stacking up/making the wiki's more neat. (the other wiki's can be used for it's official work and this can be used for the 'behind the scenes'. This will help with many difficulties)
  • To create a perfect working enviornment for editors. (sometimes editors need to sit back and relax, maybe even start an interesting conversation...)
  • To make the wikiproject work more secure.

What a userpage would include

[edit]
  • a user page will include all the projects that the user is involved in.
  • It will include the user's rights... (extended-confirmed, auto-confirmed...etc...)
  • It will include links to the user's activity on the other wiki-projects. (a chart)
  • A short description about the user.
  • block log if blocked.

Talk page details of a user

[edit]
  • a talk page will only be used for official purposes.
  • a talk page will also be used to appeal blocks
  • to ask for help
  • to notify the user about anything

Block policies

[edit]

'since this is a headquarters, a user shall only be blocked under these circumstances.'

  • if the user has been banned from all wikimedia projects
  • If the user has vandalised the project several times
  • If the user has been making distruptive edits to pages.
  • If the user advertises in any of the pages in the wiki.
  • If the user has been complained by more than 15 users.
  • If the usersends in more than 10 requests to join an admin discussion at a time.
  • If the user continuosly sends in requests to be an administrator,Checkuser, rollbacker and etc...
  • If the user constantly sends in messages to a talk page.
  • If the user sends in threats, Blames and any kind of inappopriate gesture.

Policies when creating discussion

[edit]
  • Must have a clear description.
  • Must have a clear goal
  • Must have over 2 participants
  • Must only include conversations related to the subject
  • Discussions must only be created to discuss work related to the wiki's
  • A discussion must include clear conversations... Conversations that make no sense will be banned.

what you can do to help this project

[edit]

' You just have to put your name in the list and Spread the word! Its that simple! You can also show your support by proposing more idea's for this project'

Alternative names

[edit]

Wikihome, Wikiteahouse, Wikiland, WikiHangouts, Wikinest.

[edit]

There are many other places for discussion,Wikipedia creates seperate sub pages and stuff, but it is really better for a hangout for the editors to be seperate. And of course, a place where all administrator discussions will be secret and only can be accessed by admins. A place where they store the oldest archives.

Domain names

[edit]

www.WikiHome.com WWW.Wikinest.com

Who will run this project?

[edit]
  • This project will be maintained by the editors themselves. But several chosen administrators will be the 'eagles' of this page. And as usual, the other user's will get rights such as Autoconfirmed, checkuser...etc... according to their contributions to the wiki.
  • The chosen administrators will be named as 'The foundation' of wikihome. They will make sure that the Wikiprojects will be neat and clean.

I apologize for creating such a ridiculous proposal, i would like for this proposal to be closed by an administrator as i am no longer part of the wikimedia corporation... 18:01, 11 March 2021 (UTC) — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arepticous (talk)
