Abstract:
[edit]Through the 8 Trust Indicators®, people can easily choose trustworthy news they know they can rely on as they make decisions about their lives, communities and governments. Hundreds of news agencies have successfully completed a rigorous training and review process to incorporate them in their newsrooms, online and on air. Not only that, the Trust Indicators can help anyone assess news reliability anywhere. Join me in a workshop to imagine ways to integrate them into Wikimedia and beyond to enhance media literacy, counter disinformation by elevating news with integrity, and empower editors to identify high-quality sources of information.
