- Abstract (in about 300 words)
This is going to be short and sweet (possibly) about various technical roles with the Wikimedia Foundation for University students, kids and women. I would like to introduce and explain about the process of Google Summer of Code and Outreachy rounds which are coming up soon. I would love to introduce Google Code In too, and show why we should encourage our siblings to participate in the same.
Few things I plan to talk about are:
- The importance of starting early for one of these programs
- How to select the right project, how to get in touch with the right mentors
- Importance of reporting, a healthy community-intern relation
- Completing the project, and the need to stick with the community.
I currently volunteer as the GSoC 2016 and Outreachy'12 Organization admin with the Wikimedia Foundation, and being on both sides (student and mentor of the GSoC program), I hope to push eligible candidates to apply for the same.

[edit]- I am a second year Engineering student at SRM University and was very recently toying with the idea of establishing a SRM-Wiki students group kind of a community at my college with a handful of like-minded peers. Would definitely want to attend this session and take valuable inputs. Thank you! -- Mourya Biswas (cHiT-ChAt! - Contributions) 15:46, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
