Wiki Explores Paschim Medinipur - Phase I

The event has been planned to explore the district of Paschim Medinipur and its various heritage structures. The district has a lot of National / State protected monuments apart from numerous other important heritage structures. Unfortunately they are not explored as much as they should be and there are not much related media in Commons too. Through this event we plan to solve that as much as possible.

Route

Kharagpur – Midnapore – Chandrakona Town – Khirpai – Ghatal – Daspur – Panshkura – Debra - Kharagpur

• Day 0 : Reach Khargapur in the afternoon. Overnight at Kharagpur Hostel
• Day 1: Malancha, Midnapore, Chandrakona Town. Overnight at Chandrakona Road Hotel
• Day 2: Chandrakona Outskirts, Overnight at Chandrakona Road Hotel
• Day 3: Kshirpai, Ghatal, Overnight at Ghatal
• Day 4: Daspur and Narjole, Overnight at Panskura Hotel
• Day 5: Panshkura, Debra ( Back To Kharagpur). Catch train from Kharagpur

• Day 2: Tamluk - Jalchak- Pingla -Sabang -Egra. Night stay at Egra
• Day 3: Egra - Churulia- Panchrol - Alangiri - Contai. Night stay at Contai
• Day 4: Contai - Dihi Bahiri - Jhukia - Bhagabanpur - Tamluk

বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়ায় পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বিভিন্ন নিবন্ধ নেই, যেগুলি আছে তাতে বেশীর ভাগে খুব তথ্য নেই। যেমন উপরে প্রায় ১০০-১৫০টি প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক স্থান, ভবনের ছবি তোলার জন্য বলা হয়েছে কিন্তু এগুলির বেশীর ভাগের নিবন্ধ বাংলা উইকিতে নেই। তাই আমি নিবন্ধ প্রতিযোগিতা আয়োজন করার প্রস্তাব করছি।

প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন, নিবন্ধের তালিকা বানানো, নিবন্ধ পর্যালোচনা করা এগুলি আমি করতে পারব। প্রতিযোগিতায় পুরস্কার প্রদানের জন্য অনুদান প্রয়োজন।

Wiki Explores Bankura - Phase II

The event has been planned as a continuation of the event Wiki Explores Bankura - Phase I to further explore the district of Bankura and its various heritage structures. The district has a lot of National / State protected monuments apart from numerous other important heritage structures. Unfortunately, they are not properly documented and last status of many such monuments date back to the 1990s. Since they are not explored as much as they should be and there are not much-related media in Commons too. The first event solved this crisis to some extent. Through this event, we plan to solve that to a much larger extent.

Route

• Day 0: Reach Bishnupur in the night. Overnight at Tourist Lodge
• Day 1: Start Early morning with this route: Bishnupur – Abantika – Naricha – Muninagar – Bhora - Balsi – Bamira – Patrasayar – Patit – Indas - Akui. Overnight at Tourist lodge
• Day 2: Check out from the hotel and start early morning with this route: Bishnupur–Tejpal-Jadabnagar–Vikrampur-Sontalpal-Ekteswar-Rajagram-Atbaichandi. Leave Bishnupur in the afternoon by train.

Wiki Explores Burdwan - Phase I

While Burdwan district has a large collection of terracotta temples including other heritage structures, surprisingly except Ambika Kalna, none of the places has wide coverage in Wikimedia Commons. Even the ever popular 108 Shiva temple of Nababhat and the famous Sarbamangla Temple of Burdwan town has only two and six entries in the Commons gallery. There are old zamindar houses too in this district, some of which are on the verge of extinction. It is thus important to document these structures in different phases. We hope this event will help in this requirement.

Route

Basically, it is difficult to give a detailed plan of documentation of heritage structures of Burdwan district within such a short period. So I am just now defining areas where I will start documenting.

• Day 1-2: Documentation of temples based on their location around Mankar.
• Day 3-5 Documentation of temples based on their location around Burdwan town
• Day 6-7 Documentation of temples based on their location around Katwa

It is difficult to give a budget without making the detailed route. The route may have to be done entirely by car either from Kolkata or from Burdwan town.

Wiki Explores CoochBehar - Phase I

While the CoochBehar town is popular among the tourists, Wikimedia Commons surprisingly has very less high-quality images of the place. CoochBehar Royal Palace itself has only 8 high-resolution images. There are several heritage buildings around Sagardighi which now either is a Government office or School and college.It is important that the heritage buildings and sites of CoochBihar town and places around it is documented. It is hoped that this event will solve this crisis to some extent.

Route

Day 0: On Board, Kanchenjungha Express from Kolkata at 06:35 which reaches New Cooch Behar Junction same day night at 21:20. Overnight in hotel at Cooch Behar. Day 1: Sightseeing within Cooch Behar town area by walking or using local conveyance.Overnight in hotel at Cooch Behar Day 2: Visit Baneshwar Shiva Temple, Madhupur Dham, Gosanimari excavation site Kamteshwari temple by car. (100 km). In the afternoon take Padatik express from New New Cooch Behar Junction at 18:07 and reach Sealdah next day morning.

CC-BY-SA 4.0 লাইসেন্সে কপিরাইটযুক্ত বইয়ের পুনঃ প্রকাশ

বহু পুস্তক-পুস্তিকা ও অন্যান্য প্রকাশিত নথি আছে যা কপিরাইট আইনের কারণে এখনও পাবলিক ডোমেনে নেই। আবার সেই বইগুলি দীর্ঘ দিন ধরেই আর পুনর্মুদ্রিত না হওয়ার কারণে সকলের কাছে সহজলভ্য নয়। অথচ এমন কিছু লেখক বা স্বর্গত লেখকদের ক্ষেত্রে তাদের উত্তরাধিকারী আছেন যারা পুস্তক-পুস্তিকাগুলি ক্রিয়েটিভ কমন্স লাইসেন্সে প্রকাশ করতে ইচ্ছুক। কেউ কেউ আছেন যাদের কাছে এমন আবেদন রাখলে তারা রাজি হবেন। এটিকে একটি প্রকল্প হিসেবে গ্রহণ করে এই প্রস্তাবনার মধ্যে দিয়ে আমরা একটি অনুদানের আবেদন রাখছি। প্রকল্পের প্রথম ভাগে আমরা কলকাতার আশেপাশে দশজন লেখক ও দু'টি প্রকাশনা সংস্থার (লেখক ও উত্তরসূরী দুইয়েরই অবর্তমানে) প্রকাশিত পুস্তক-পুস্তিকা-নথি CC-BY-SA 4.0 তে পুনঃ প্রকাশ করার প্রচেষ্টা নিচ্ছি।
