Documents

[edit]

WALRUS is a coalition for collaboration and has not been imagined as its own incorporated entity. The United States is a large country with many active Wikimedia community organizations. Organizing United States national consensus and governance would be difficult. Instead of a national organization, Wikimedians in the United States have sought to encourage either regional or thematic collaboration, and WALRUS convenes to encourage conversation and mutual support.

There are some national community agreements which are available for any organization to consider as historical consensus and affirmation of ongoing wishes to collaborate.

  • Foggy Bottom Agreement, a 11 July 2012 meeting at Wikimania 2012 in Washington DC at which the WALRUS Congress announces WALRUS
  • Friendly space policies, a 2012 conduct governance policy which WALRUS events introduced into Wikimedia culture
