Hello, YWelinder (WMF). Welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). Happy editing!

Thank you

The Special Barnstar
Thank you for everything you did to help the Wikivoyage logo selection procedure of 2013 run as smoothly as possible, up to and including getting up insanely early in Hong Kong to complete the legal review on schedule and completing the final legal review ahead of time, permitting the community time to adjust to results. --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 12:46, 3 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Staff page

[edit]

Hello Yana. To answer your question about the staff page: the Legal section was reordered by Heather as part of a series of edits to sort all sections alphabetically. Hope that helps! Guillaume (WMF) (talk) 19:23, 23 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello Yana!

[edit]

I am from the French Wikipedia and I have just read about the policy website launched by the foundation. And, well, now I'd like you to resign from your position! I'd like to write and read a neutral encyclopedia and your initiative forces me to move even further into political territory, with an anti-government twist that I don't think I should have to accept. Please thus consider the option I suggest. Thierry Caro (talk) 03:16, 3 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you have a concern about the policy choices or the fact that the WMF is doing any policy at all then I encourage you to discuss the substance of that here, on Talk:Public_policy or somewhere else that makes sense. However ad hominem attacks such as sarcastically suggesting that someone consider resigning, especially this early on in the discussion, are neither constructive nor necessary and seems engineered to anger and insult rather then help to make things better. I would recommend that neither Yana, nor anyone else, respond to this thread unless you're willing to alter your approach and discuss the content. Jalexander--WMF 17:01, 3 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I am just trying to make her react. It's like when someone is assaulted on a crowdy train and nobody reacts. The victim has a much higher chance to trigger someone's reaction if they name the person that could help. 'Hey! Mr in blue! These ladies are attacking me! Help me!' Yana and Stephen put the message there, or signed it or whatever. If I do not name them, and suggest something to them, they won't react and may use a pre-filled bureaucratic answer. Now they are really in a position where they can consider, for at least a few seconds that yes, somewhere someone is feeling terrible about this new move towards politics and that they are, in person, responsible for this. Yes, I know a job is a job and is important for your well-being and the ones you care for but sorry, you have to resign from this one if you really belive in a neutral encyclopedia.
