User talk:Wkentaur/OSM-Wikipedia place name tool
Add topicPotential improvement : insert a free text box to adjust proposed name
[edit]A free-text box would be helpfull to allow a quick correction of the proposed name, when relevant.
e.g. WP article Hannover_Hauptbahnhof corresponds to "name = Hauptbahnhof" which is proper tagging in OSM.
However, the proposed translation is "Gare centrale de Hanovre".
Being able to modify description to "Gare Centrale" would be convenient.
- Currently the selected names can be edited in JOSM before uploading them to Openstreetmap. But, yes, the free-text box would make correcting quicker. --WikedKentaur 18:18, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Bug : French name for rivers
[edit]WP articles do not include "Le, La, L'" in front of names for rivers French name.
Therefore, "Altier" is proposed as "name:fr", while "name = L'Altier"
Addition of name:fr tag is therefore not relevant.
Multupolygon relations
[edit]In list we are saw multipolygon relations without tag name(:*)=* and wikipedia=*. Outer way of these multipolygon has name(:*)=* and wikipedia=*. And these marked relations and its child way are not get to a file osmChange. For example: Utøya on ru-list.--Canabis2k (talk) 16:47, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
- I will exclude those multipolygons from the name list. --WikedKentaur (talk) 09:49, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
- They are now excluded from the name list. --WikedKentaur (talk) 20:08, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Database export
[edit]There is a way to access database export ? I'm a dev of Osmose a quality tool for OpenStreetMap. Your job look interesting. I wish add multilanguage naming suggestion to Osmose, beside the already present wikipedia tag validator. So there is a way to export recurrently your database of naming suggestion ? - Making the database dump is currently blocked by pg_dump version mismatch on toolserver: https://jira.toolserver.org/browse/TS-1578 --WikedKentaur (talk) 09:04, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
