Structurist Mergist

[edit]

Havn't sign in for a while, sorry for a delayed reply. Structurist are primarily anti-mergist, but just like one has sometimes to splice and merge sentences in a paragraph, entire paragraphs of a section, or sections in an article, so must one sometimes swap information between articles or merge them (note the scale diff.). Ideally as one gets to the higher levels such as in whole articles, the mergers and splices should be less, but problem is that often you do get stub articles with huge amounts of redundant content that are also badly organised. In these cases a merger is justified. I agree that most mergers and done very sloppy (and "violent") manner, but that does not mean all merger's are such. Merger's have their inherent benefits, and when used well fulfills the second tenet while not breaking the third Structurist Tenet. As such, I'm simply a structurist who gives some leeway to merges. I also don't believe that structurists should be anti-mergists, but boldly merge articles when really REALLY required (taking the middle road). "Structurist mergist" == "Poser"? No quite, its more a matter of scale and perspective :) Sjschen 16:31, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
