Copyright problem with File:20101230JA089 US - US December 30th test1 moka v Jimmy DPI.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:20101230JA089 US - US December 30th test1 moka v Jimmy DPI.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at this page. Thanks again for your cooperation. -- Dferg ☎ talk 21:25, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry to say that every image you uploaded today has the same problem. Check [1] and fix them, please, as I don't see any reason their deletion couldn't be easily avoided. You may also consider uploading them to the Commons. Courcelles 21:40, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- How can I fix them without uploading them to commons? Ryan 18:47, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
- Bottom line is that we need a source where you got the file from, proof it is available under a free license if not your own work, and a license tag; see Category:License templates for the available ones here on Meta.
{{Wikipedia-screenshot}}
is one that seems relevant to what you're doing, but you have to evaluate each image. Courcelles 18:17, 13 April 2011 (UTC)- You gave a source on your latest image upload, but remember it requires a license as well. Courcelles 19:42, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
- OK, thank you very much for your help Courcelles! Ryan 21:00, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Welcome template test at ptwiki
[edit]We have run an A/B test with the welcome template at ptwiki. We used Z4 and Z5 as tracking templates, Maryana mentioned you have scripts you can run to analyze the data. Chico (talk) 00:31, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi there Maryana mentioned that you were looking to test a welcome template. She provided me the template tag, I may be able to get to this by weeks end. Ryan Mar 14 18:28:24 UTC
- Thanks. If you have any questions you can reach me here, on IRC (chicocvenancio) at #wikpedia-pt or #wikimedia-stewards or on w:pt:user talk:chicocvenancio. Chico (talk) 20:04, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
Any updates? Chico (talk) 23:45, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Chico, sorry not yet, I've been a bit swamped with different things but I haven't forgotten you! :)
- Any news? I could run the scripts if necessary... Chico (talk)
- Hey! Sorry Chico I completely lost track of the request. What were the dates over which you'd like to look at the welcome messages? 17:45, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- We started the test February first and ended it March 12. Z4 and Z5 were the tracking templates we used. The most important data I want to see is editor retention (difference in number of edits between the two groups), and if more analysis is possible (like different levels of vandalism between the groups) it also would be very helpful. I did not quite understand the question and hope this answers it. Thanks helping with this. Chico (talk) 18:59, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks Chico. I've started working on setting up scripts to pull what we need from the revision table. However, since this is PT wiki I need to set things up a bit differently and there's some additional overhead. Will hopefully be able to get the scripts running tomorrow. Renklauf 21:44, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- Are the scripts running? Any preview on the data? Chico (talk) 22:17, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- I saw these start running on Friday. The db he's using is slower than the one available to us in English, but it should be done by the time everyone gets in on Monday. Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 22:25, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- Good news! Nice to see you Steven, never seen you in IRC again. Chico (talk) 22:36, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- I've gathered postings for the z4 and z5 templates on pt-wiki however, I didn't find any for z5 (94 revisions for z4). Would that make any sense? I'm running postings again for z5. Renklauf 19:50, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- Not really, there are 591 transclusions of z4 and 562 of z5. Is there anything I can help with? Chico (talk) 23:21, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
