Help with Bengali translation

Hello. Could you please fix this translation? It's imported from a previous year's, which was in a different format. Thank you, PiRSquared17 (talk) 05:34, 25 October 2014 (UTC)

Everything looks fine except the last segment which wasn't translated, but I just added the translation for that. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 14:07, 25 October 2014 (UTC)

deletion of cahorizons

Dear PMlineditor,

I am new to wikipedia and now realize that I shouldn't have used cahorizons as a username based on the policies. The global username changer instructions are not clear, and I don't understand how to change the username to say, my personal name, if this will solve the violation.

Also, are not company descriptions acceptable? For example, Wikipedia shows Coca-Cola Company and describes its products. The description I uploaded for CAHorizons was a simple English description of the company's services. Therefore, I am having difficulty understanding what is deemed to be advertisement versus factual description based on decision for quick deletion.

Your guidance is welcomed.

Thank you.

Pierre

Cahorizons (talk) 19:07, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

@Cahorizons: Hi and thanks for the message. To address your first question, you need to put a request in this page to get globally renamed. Otherwise, you can tell me what username you want to get renamed to and I can complete the request.
Regarding the deletion of the article: while company descriptions are of course allowed in Wikipedia, your username suggested a conflict of interest and since your userpage didn't have any sources, it appeared to be promotional material instead of an article you were working on to me. If you wish to work on the article, I'll be happy to restore it, though I suggest you to read the conflict of interest policy page.
Please tell me what username you wish to get renamed to; once your username adheres to the policy, you can be unblocked on Simple Wikipedia. Regards, Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 19:45, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

help pls

Hi; I am a student in Başkent University. ip 212.156.67.30 is used by Başkent Üniversitesi in Turkey. But it was blocked in Turkish wikipedia for unlimited time. block begins: 23:15, 6 Feb. 2011. Since that time whole university can not make any edits in Turkish wikipedia. We university students want to edit turkish wikipedia. Local adminstrators say they are very angry with an old time user and they dont unblock th i.p. and they punish a whole university. It has been a long time and probably the person that makes them angry is graduate by now. Thank you for help.

Hi, this isn't something I can handle as I'm neither a sysop in Turkish Wikipedia, nor a steward. You can try creating an account and asking for IP block exempt. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 12:31, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

37.144.145.16

Will you look, please, at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/37.144.145.16 That seems to be a destructive bot. What do you think about it? How to deal with it? Domitori (talk) 04:18, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

I am not sure that is a bot; in any case, it's better to contact a local admin (which I see you've already done) who can handle the IP in case it / they resume editing. Regards, Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 16:55, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
There is similar case at the Russian version of wikisource, but this time the bot is handled by the registered user Lozman. It removes texts by
https://ru.wikisource.org/wiki/Леонард_Борисович_Терновский
https://ru.wikisource.org/wiki/Софья_Васильевна_Каллистратова
https://ru.wikisource.org/wiki/Александр_Павлович_Тимофеевский
The texts are moved to some strange site http://wikilivres.ru
There, the user with the same nick Lozman removes them with pretext of violation of the copyright
(the licenses from Wikisource are not transferred to that site).
You may look for the example at

What do you think about this? Domitori (talk) 13:32, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Congratulations!

Hello Pmlineditor,

On behalf of the stewards' election committee, congratulations on your election as a steward! Your permissions have now been set and you are able to start working.

You have been added to the list of stewards and the stewards' chart. Please take a moment to check that your details are accurate and update them if necessary.

You have been given access to the mailing lists related to your steward duties, which include: checkuser-l, the private mailing list for Wikimedia checkusers, stewards-l, the private list for stewards. In addition, you have been or will be given access to the related private wikis, one for checkusers and the other solely for stewards, details of which will be provided.

If you use IRC, you will be given access to several channels, including #wikimedia-checkuserconnect and #wikimedia-privacyconnect. Please also idle in #wikimedia-stewardsconnect when you are available for duty.

Best of luck with your new tools; I am sure you will do a fantastic job. Please remember that your fellow stewards are always available if you need a second opinion, either via the mailing list or on IRC.

Updated scripts

Hi Pmlineditor. I edited your global.js to update you to the latest version of force ltr and ajax sysop, which are compatible with the latest MediaWiki changes and reside on the Wikimedia Tool Labs for easier updates. I also updated various deprecated functions and made your scripts HTTPS-compatible. Let me know if anything breaks. :) —Pathoschild 03:31, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
