Add topicWitaj Michawiki, a trójnu sławu, tole njebych sam zdokonjał. Poprawom by móhła serbska Wikipedija nĕtko startować (Hłowna strona je spĕšnje dopisana a raster-logo sym hižo stworił - Wikipedia_raster_name, tam pod wen), ale dwĕluju hišće, hač bychu so woprawdźe dosć zajimcow namakali. Nimo Tebje, mnje a hišće jednoho anonymca, kotrehož w Internach namakach so dotal nichtó jĕwił njeje. Wĕm ze swójskeho nazhonjenja (sym admin na nĕmskej Wikipediji), kelko dźĕła je trĕbny, tajki projekt ze žiwjenjom napjelnić. Nimo toho myslu, zo budźe lĕpje, zhromadnu hornjo- a delnjoserbsku WP stworić, zo njebychmy mócy brojili (a kruh zajimcow sćĕpili). Druhi Meta-User je mi ta tutón problem skedźbnił [1]. Njewĕm hišće, na kajke wašnje so to přesadźić da, je wšak wobmyslenja hódne, abo? Za spĕšnišu komunikaciju je snadź lĕpje, na mojej nĕmskej disku-stronje dale činić. Sy tam tež přizjewjeny? Witaj Dundako,
a trójnu sławu, tole njebych sam zdokonjał.
Dźakuju so. Ale myslu zo Language.hsb hišće perfektny njeje, na př. faluja wjele fachowych słowow w serbšćinje. Baza běše Language.php, ale njemóžach jón 1:1 přewzać.
..., ale dwĕluju hišće, hač bychu so woprawdźe dosć zajimcow namakali. Nimo Tebje, mnje a hišće jednoho anonymca, kotrehož w Internach namakach so dotal nichtó jĕwił njeje. Myslu, zo ličba zajimcow (ty wěsće měniš sobudźěłaćerjow) wažna njeje. Ja měnju, zo dosaha dźěło započeć a Wikipediju pomału rosć dać. Moja filozofija je so najprjedy w ćichej komorce do materije zadźěłać. Nimo toho Wikipedija je w prěnim rjedźe encyklopedija, a nic nowina. My bychmy wulki team trjebali, jeli my chcyli aktualne informacije prawidłownje poskićić. Ale dokelž nimamy tajki team, dyrbimy tajkich aktualnych informacijow wzdać. Ja sym hižo loni prěni LanguageHsb.php spisał, ale dokelž činju tež serbske rěčne pakćiki za Mozillu, Firefox a Thunderbird a žane zdaće wo PHP, MySQL a Mediawiki njemějach, sym tutón nadawk nachwilu ad acta połožił. Tehdy je so hišće radyserb na Internecach přizjewił, njewěm hač wón ma hišće zajim. Pisam to hišće raz: Serbska Wikipedija móhła so poradźić, jeli sej čas bjerjemy. Snano so dalši zajimcy w přichodźe projektej přidruža.
Nimo toho myslu, zo budźe lĕpje, zhromadnu hornjo- a delnjoserbsku WP stworić, zo njebychmy mócy brojili (a kruh zajimcow sćĕpili).
Bych diskusijnu stronu preferował, kotraž so jenož na tema Serbskeje Wikipedije poćahuje.

Bugzilla request
[edit]Yes, that is me. :) Unfortunately, I don't know when the Lower Sorbian Wikipedia will be created. The developers tend to create wikis in batches, so we can only wait until then.--Shanel 03:24, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
"needs updating"
[edit]"needs updating" is used by us to tell you that you need to update the translation, ie. something was changed in the source. If there has just been a change to your translation that needs to be uploaded, you can just use "ready". Thanks for all you work on translations! :-) Cbrown1023 talk 20:11, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Casey, thanks. I really didn't know exactly which category I had to use. Now it's clear. Thank you for your information. Kind regards, --Michawiki 22:30, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Video subtitle
[edit]Hi Michawiki thanks for your translation! I would like you to remind the subtitles are difficult to update since we need a dev to update it, and they should therefore be triple checked before you mark things as "ready"?
Again, thank you for your cooperation and patience. Our dev will back on their Monday (in two days) so you have a time to check subtitles again. Can you please make it sure it is really ready?
Thanks! --Aphaia 14:42, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, Aphaia, I'll bear it in mind in future. Regards, --Michawiki 20:58, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
RE: Thank you for your help
[edit]It was my pleasure. I work hard against vandalism in es:Wikipedia and I know how a idiot can dirty our work. You are very welcome. At your disposal, --Lucien leGrey ( m | es ) 21:22, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Supplementary messages
[edit]Hello Michawiki.
I noticed that you translated the fundraiser's core messages into Dolnoserbski (dsb) and Hornjoserbsce (hsb), thank you for your help! Although the fundraiser is over, your translation work will still be used until next November (when we get new forms).
Unfortunately, there are some missing messages and pages that were not included in the original request. Would you mind translating these supplementary messages too?
Thanks for your help, and please feel free to leave a message on m:Talk:Fundraising 2009/supplementary messages if you have any questions! Cbrown1023 talk 16:39, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Translation Update
[edit]I want to thank you for your help translating throughout this year's fundraiser. The fundraiser has greatly benefited from all your contributions. Currently, the Kartika, Liliaroja, Abbas and Joan Gomà appeals need to be translated, as we are running appeals from editors. You can find all translation requests at the translation hub on meta and you can follow the progress of the fundraiser in real time by tracking the fundraiser statistics. It is important to check the Core Messages as many languages still need updating. Also if you haven't already, you can subscribe to the translators-l mailing list for all new requests and major changes. Many thanks for your help in truly making this a global fundraiser that you can edit.Klyman 20:26, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hello Klyman. Thank you for your message. I usually translate into Upper Sorbian (hsb) and Lower Sorbian (dsb). Till now I translated: Core messages (hsb+dsb), Jimmy's appeal (hsb+dsb), Benefactors (hsb+dsb), Social Media Sharing (hsb+dsb), Kartika's appeal (hsb+dsb) and Lilaroja's appeal (hsb).
- But this time I helped to update the German texts as well because I saw that there hasn't been any progress for a long time: Jimmy's appeal, Core messages, Benefactors and Social Media Sharing. But my translations into German shall be exceptions. I don't know who usually makes German translations. I made the translations because I realized that German is an important language for Wikimedia fundraiser. At first I will translate the other editor appeals into the Sorbian languages and if I will have time enough I will translate them into German as well. I hope that other people will translate them into German.
- The mailing list "translators-l" I have already subscribed to some years ago. Kind regards, --Michawiki 23:43, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Translator, We need you!
[edit]Dear Michawiki,
You have helped us in previous years with translations and for that we are most grateful. Now we turn towards the 2011/12 fundraiser. It may seem forever away, but work has already begun getting everything ready to go. This year we want to have landing pages covering as many countries in as many languages as possible.
Right now, we want to figure out who is interested in translating for the fundraiser. This year we're hoping to have more of a solidified "core" group of translators that we can count on to have work done by a few key dates, but we'd also welcome help from people who are willing to just help out when they can.
If you would be interested please take a look at this little sign-up survey and fill it out http://survey.wikimedia.org/index.php?sid=13638&newtest=Y&lang=en. With that we can start building a list of people and filling any gaps in the languages we serve.
Many Thanks

- Hi Joseph. I don't know yet if I will translate for fundraiser this year. Last year I had to state that my translations were not used. I translate into the minority languages Upper Sorbian and Lower Sorbian but fundraiser texts were accepted in "big" national languages only. Here in Germany it is German. So why translate? The same was true for other minority languages as well. In 2009 this was still different. Regards, --Michawiki 22:27, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
- To clarify for Joseph who wasn't involved in the Foundation side of the things last year (but was involved in the chapter-side): Michawiki is referring to the fact that all users inside of a chapter area were sent to the chapter landing pages that the chapters controlled. This caused problems for minority languages when the chapters were not interested in translating their landing pages to other languages. Although Michawiki's translations were published, they were only used by the Wikimedia Foundation and so were only accessible by those outside of chapter countries like Germany. Michawiki never got to see his translations on the Wikimedia projects and could not actually access his translations by clicking on the "donate" links. :-( It's also likely that no one else was able to see his translations either because most of the dsb/hsb speakers are located in Germany, which made him feel like he wasted his time. If Wikimedia Deutschland and the other chapters have agreed to accept translations of their fundraising pages this year like the Wikimedia Foundation (I'm not sure if they have), I think that would help Michawiki's decision. :-) (Michawiki, please correct me if I'm wrong here.) - Thank you Casey, it's all correct. I couldn't say it better. Regards, --Michawiki 12:42, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Re:
[edit]Yep, Bencmq asked me to lock that vandal on hsb.wiki, afaik it's the first time it joins your wiki if it will go on I can make a rangeblock with ease since that vandal comes from China while the most of hsb.wiki's contributors comes from EU, have a nice day! :) --Vituzzu 13:38, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
[edit]Hi! I just want to thank you and give you this barnstar for your help with the translation of the 2011 fundraiser! The fundraiser was the best we ever had, both in terms of the amount we collected and in terms of number of translations. We couldn't have done either one without the help we got from you and other translators. If you are interested, we made a report, which has some statistics about the translations.
And: I have one more request, and that is that you take this survey. You may have got an e-mail about it, and if you did, please ignore this. But if you didn't it would be great if you would take this survey too, so we can learn to improve the translation experience.
Again, thanks for your help with translations – you're awesome! Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 14:27, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Fundraising translation feedback
[edit]Hey Michawiki, I have a bit of a request to ask from you. We pulled down our banners nearly a fortnight ago for what was a highly successful international fundraiser and brought the curtain down on last years fundraiser. This week however we will be changing payment processors and during the testing of the new system it would be useful to use the time productively on on testing banner text.
To help us out with this I wonder if you would be willing to help us improve our geman text using This Link
Simply follow the simple instructions on that page and if you have any questions feel free to contact me on my talk page.
We are going to run the test on tuesday so if you dont see this message till 24 hours after it was sent you can ignore me :) Many Thanks though.

quick translation request
[edit]Hello, I understand you speak Lower Sorbian and Upper Sorbian. I was wondering if you can translate "Village in China", "Commune in Morocco", and "village in Indonesia". It is for updating Wikidata. Thanks in advance. --Artix Kreiger (Message Wall) 19:52, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
