Translation work English/Arabic

Dear Meno25, I am contacting you to introduce myself. My name is Jessica Robell and I have recently joined the Wikimedia Foundation as a part of the fundraising team. My work will be focused to a large extent around translations. I am very interested in finding engaged Wikipedians, such as yourself, who would be interested in contributing with their time to translate shorter text from English to Arabic. I saw that you recently helped us translate the 'Thank you letter' from Wikimedia's ED Sue Gardner using the translation extension; a warm thank you for your contribution! We will continue using the translation extension for this purpose. However, in addition my aim is to develop a few personal contacts to whom I can reach out with potential questions regarding a particular word choice etc. As an engaged Wikipedia translator, I would be very interested in hearing your view on this.

Thanks for your reply. It took a while (especially the technical part was difficult to translate), but the Dutch translation is now ready. You may like to take another look at the sentence structure of "I haven't coded anything series." in the English version of your statement. Mathonius (talk) 01:32, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Mathonius, "series" is a typo for "serious". "coded" is the same as "programmed". What else is confusing? PiRSquared17 (talk) 01:39, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Wikimedia is not a test cluster

Please do not test your new rights on production wiki. The English Wikipedia is not a test wiki, and you arwiki is your homewiki, as per steward policy you are not allowed to act on it. If you want to do tests, do them on testwiki, but the actions you took earlier today were absolutely unacceptable. While it is within your powers, arguably, to remove checkuser from yourself if you wish to resign, it is not within your power to grant yourself checkuser, in violation of the checkuser policy (there was no second election), on your own homewiki and in full COI. If you wish to do testing, do it on a testwiki and with silly userright, not on a major production wiki in violation of the steward and checkuser policies. Back in the old days, it was quiet normal that a steward grants himself or removes from himself rights for testing purposes. This was considered uncontroversial. Since apparently norms have changed, I will not do that again. --Meno25 (talk) 05:34, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

أكيد يا مينو قصدي أنه نتفق على ترجمة موحدة. أنا لا أترجم الدورية حرفيا ولذلك أترجم "Future Software changes" إلى التغييرات المستقبلية في برنامج ميدياويكي لأن هذا القسم يعني بما سيحدث للبرنامج من تنصيب إمتدادت عليه وأي تطوارت أخرى. البرامج الفرعية الأخرى غالبا متى تذكر في أقسام أخرى مثل قسم المحرر المرئي وقسم البرامج الأخرى.

أنا أرى أنك تترجمها عند زيارة الدورية إلى تغييرات مستقبلية في البرامج ولا أفهم ما هي وجهة نظرك ونحن في هذه الدوامة منذ فترة. كان يجب علي محادثتك قبلاً ولكني في غاية الإنشغال في حياتي الشخصية. --Asaifm (talk) 16:11, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

@Helmoony: مرحبا؛ سأفترض أنك تقصد النسخة التجريبية لويكي الرحلات العربي على الإنكوباتور؛ الأرقام المستخدمة في الإنكوباتور هي الأرقام العربية الغربية؛ لكن الصفحة الرئيسية لويكي الرحلات العربي تعرض التاريخ بالأرقام العربية الشرقية لأن الParser function #time تعرض التاريخ بهذا النظام داخل الصفحات التابعة لويكي الرحلات العربي، وذلك لأن استخدام الارقام العربية الشرقية هو من ضمن الإعدادات الافتراضية لميدياويكي؛ خارج هذه الصفحات الدالة #time تعرض التاريخ بالأرقام العربية الغربية كما هو متوقع؛ يمكنك تقديم طلب في بجزيللا لإصلاح هذه المشكلة؛ تحياتي. --Meno25 (talk) 20:11, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
