renaming mistake

[edit]
Resolved.

I got an apparently automatic message that my account on nl.wikibooks is to be renamed. That account has been recently added to my SUL account already. There is no need to rename it. Since this has happened very recently (i.e. yesterday), I suppose it was a mistake by your software. User Lieven@nlwikibooks I guess it's just an error, but just wanted to be sure. -- Thanks, Lieven (talk) 07:14, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Lieven: yes, the message came to your talk page before the accout has been unified. You can forget about the message. --IW 12:38, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I received a message on my talk page saying that my account would be renamed to “M132T003C~metawiki”, despite the fact that I already have a unified account named “MTC”. Is this another one of the mistakes as described in the reply 3 headings up? —MTC (talk) 07:25, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@MTC: Right. You received this message per redirect. Account to be renamed is M132T003C, not MTC. Sorry for the confusion. --Vriullop (talk) 15:48, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I received also a message: saying that there are two Havang accounts, and that this name is reserved for me. But I noticed that already years ago, and changed at that time my account name into Havang(nl), letting Havang free for an east-asien user. Please do so, and don't reserve Havang for me: I can't log-in as Havang and won't log in as Havang~enwikinews. --Havang(nl) (talk) 07:44, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Havang(nl): The account Havang at enwikinews will be renamed just for letting it free for the global owner. You can continue using your current account globally and ignore the message. --Vriullop (talk) 15:59, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I received a message on my talk page saying that my account would be renamed to “Keysanger~commonswiki”, despite the fact that I already have a unified account named “Keysanger”. I never had problems with my name and I don't want any other name. Thanks, --Keysanger (talk) 08:32, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Can you tell me please, who is the another "Keysanger"?. --Keysanger (talk) 10:36, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I am no admin or anything alike, but anyone can check your SUL accounts here, where you find a non-attached account with your name in the finnish wikipedia. Hope this helps. -- Lieven (talk) 10:56, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Keysanger: this message was meant for c:User:Createaccount which was previously your name. The talk page redirects to your talk page, so the message appeared there. If you don't need these little unattached accounts, you can ignore the warning. --IW 18:10, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm concerned about a strange message received about my username being changed

[edit]
Resolved.

Hi, My username in all the Wiki projects has been Eldad ever since. I suddenly received messages that it's going to be changed (to various awkward names, in various projects). It has been Eldads at first, but then I renamed it to Eldad, and never had any problem in any of the project pages. I wish my username Eldad to remain as it is. Other names referring to that same name (as Eldads, for instance, or אלדד in Hebrew) can be merged with Eldad, if need be. Eldad (talk) 08:26, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Eldad: the account "Eldad" will not be renamed. To avoid renaming of various old "Eldads" accounts, you may try to login with "Eldads" on he.wikibooks and run Special:MergeAccount there. If the unification of the old account is successful, it is possible to merge Eldads and Eldad later, otherwise all "Eldads" accounts except he.wikibooks will be renamed. --IW 12:30, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Deleting my account

Hi,

I currently own two accounts on the Wikimedia services, Jrmtge and Deuchnord, and I would like to delete Jrmtge, how could I do that? I haven't seen anything in my preferences page.

Yours sincerely --Jrmtge (talk) 08:31, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Jrmtge:, stewards can delete global accounts, but it is not done based on user requests. If you don't want to use that account simply abandon it or change the email & password to random data. Regards--Shanmugamp7 (talk) 11:24, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi.

I seem to have received messages on three of my accounts regarding:

The other three are redirects to me.

Can the redirects please be deleted rather than unified with another person's account?

Account renaming and merging

[edit]
Resolved.

Hi Keegan. I recently receive an account changing name information on Commons.

I use Filip as my login name on commons and filip42 on fr.wikipedia.org.

Can I use filip42 as a merged account on all wikis (including commons) ?

I can't do the modification myself :(

Thanks in advance !

Hi Filip, You can use filip42 as unified account on all wikis including commons (just by logging into filip42 ) but your edits under filip on commons will not be available under filip42 account. if you want those edits to be attached filip42 then you need to wait for mw:Extension:UserMerge. In the meantime, since SUL account of filip is not yours, you might get renamed on commons as notified --Shanmugamp7 (talk) 10:54, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello Keegan!
pf (or PF and P. F. and etcetera) are my initials since 1966 and I'm using them on the internet since 1996. Anyway I forgot about that account, which was created in 2006 (c. September 2006 or before, and, most probably, before any other‎), so much so that I've created my user account on the English Wikipedia on March of 2007, about half a year later. pjoef is my unique login for all public Wikimedia projects.
Even if I really forgot about its existence, as evidenced in the opening sentence within the Contributions/History section of my user page on the English Wikipedia and I do not need Pf, I forbid you from changing that username and I do not want that "pf" should be used by others than me. And, DO NOT CHANGE IT in any unuseful Pf-something form! It should be good for you, but not for me. Also, ORIGINAL-USERNAME-2-DIGIT-COUNTRY-CODEwiki is something that goes against the unified login. Can you imagine Keegan-frwiki how many discussions will create for example on the English Wikipedia, or Keegan-euwiki (Euskara) on the Spanish Wikipedia?
At least, we could make those pages redirecting to my user page and talk page on the English Wikipedia as well as renaming the other "Pf".
Best regards. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 11:05, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Pjoef: if you own the account Pf@dewiki, you may try to login with this and visit Special:MergeAccount. All accounts attached during this procedure will not be renamed. If it is not possible to login or unificate some Pf accounts, all accounts except the dewiki account will definitely be renamed. --IW 12:24, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Inkowik: – Are you saying that the first user who requires the "unification" wins or are you ask me for cracking that password? I can not do the latter because it is against my ethics. Anyway, that account has been created in 2006 but I forgot about its existence. It should be considered as a legitimate alternative account of pjoef (or viceversa) while Pf-something is unnecessary and not welcome here, and does not make any sense at all. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 12:49, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Pjoef: Ok, the German account is not yours, so you can't login with this (I never recommended to crack any passwords) and attach any other accounts. The account which has the most edits became the global account owner. All other Pf accounts not attached to the global one will be definitely renamed. There is nothing Keegan or I could do. --IW 17:51, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

renaming M.Uebel

[edit]
Resolved.

Why want you to rename my account? The account M.Uebel is my name at the German Wikipedia, at Wikidata and at Commons. I use this name in all Wikimedia projects and so I don't want, that you change this name. You can change the other account. --M.Uebel (talk) 12:24, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Renaming Message

[edit]
Resolved.

Dear Keegan,

it is eleven years ago that I joined Wikipedia. At that time, in late 2004, there were some 170,000 articles in the German Wikipedia -- meanwhile the number is more then ten times that high. In 2004 only some nerds in Germany knew about Wikipedia and so, picking a nickname was easy, they all were available.

Now, more than a decade later you are informing me that CaptainTom cannot remain my username any more. I can understand the intention of your idea, because I also tried to do some edits and media uploads on the English Wikipedia and it always was a hassle.

But: As far as I can find out, there is noone else than me who uses this nickname. Maybe I am wrong, but why don't you try to convince me about that? Why don't you send me a list of all the CaptainToms of Wikipedia to help me understand the necessity of what your going to do? If there's another CaptainTom who joined Wikipedia in 2003 or has thousands of edits or is more helpful to Wikipedia than me ever was, then I will easily accept that he will be the one to keep the nickname.

In democratic structures all individuals have some rights. They are asked to understand decisions of central authorities, but they can take some legal actions if they don't agree to a decision.

Seems, Wikipedia, or at least you as one of the bureaucratic protagonists of Wikipedia do not see any necessity to communicate like that, give me some rights or have some respect to my work for Wikipedia.

So, I have to let you know: If you rename my account you can also delete it. Your Wikipedia is not the one I once hoped to join.

Cheers, CaptainTom

Hi @CaptainTom:, Per Special:CentralAuth/CaptainTom Your account is unified. So you can keep this account. only the unattached English wikipedia account will be renamed if it is not yours. if it is yours please try to merge it using special:mergeaccount. --Shanmugamp7 (talk) 11:44, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Renaming Message Giskart/Walter

[edit]
Resolved.

Hi Keegan, I happened to see this message] on user page Walter at NL Wikipedia. The message refers to an older user name, Giskart, through a redirect. I think it is very strange to rename that older user name. Giskart/Walter is longer at Wikipedia then me (from October 2002), and later renamed his username to Walter. So what will be has user name now? Perhaps he doesnt understand. Ellywa (talk) 11:58, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Ellywa: he should try to login as Giskart on dewiki and then visit Special:MergeAccount. If the unification of the old username is successful, stewards can completely merge the rest of the old account into the new one as soon as possible. --IW 12:16, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Renaming Doradus

[edit]
Resolved.

Hi Keegan. Sorry to add to your flood of messages here. I was told my user name Doradus conflicts with another user's on another wiki, but I suspect the other user might actually be me. Is there a way to find out exactly where the conflict lies?

Just to tell you my overall objective: I also have a much older username "P3d0" (it's C3P0 with my initials) which has acquired some unsavory connotations since I picked it. Ideally I'd like to try to confirm that Doradus and P3d0 are all me, on all wikis, and take whatever steps are required to combine those into one identity. --Doradus (talk) 12:27, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Doradus: Now that you have created the single unified account, Doradus@en wiktionary will not be renamed. At the moment it isn't possible to merge two accounts with different usernames although that feature may be available soon. QuiteUnusual (talk) 15:10, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Global renaming DO NOT PROCEED in my case

[edit]
Resolved.

Hello Mr. Keegan. I received this message (es:Special:Diff/80836277) regarding the global renaming of duplicated account to USERNAME~project. But the issue here is that my account, Zerabat, is registered in more than 700 wikis of Wikimedia by me, that is, all the opened wikis. Therefore, my account must not be renamed.

Secondly, I totally disagree that the account renaming criteria take as a reference English Wikipedia. That is, if you belong to ENWIKI, you can usurpate the account name automatically, but if you belong to another wiki, it seems that you cannot take the user name, even if the one in ENWIKI is unused. Where is the equality between wikimedians? --Zerabat (discusión) 12:34, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Zerabat: the message was not for you, but for User:Tabarez, the message delivery system follows redirects. So "Zerabat" will not be renamed. --IW 12:43, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello Keegan,

Thank you for your message on my page.

The message indicates that I will be given asnatu_wiki as a username and अभय नातू will cesase to exist. Is there another user with id अभय नातू on another project that has been given that name? If so, Can this be reversed?

I have used अभय नातू for almost 10 years across many projects and have built a reputation around it. I am an admin and 'crat on w:mr and would like to continue using अभय नातू.

Do let me know.

Thank you,

अभय नातू (talk) 14:13, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@अभय नातू: The account अभय नातू will not be affected. I believe you are referring to a message left on the talk page at Meta for asnatu wiki - is this correct? If so then this is the account that may be renamed and the reason the message was sent is because the asnatu wiki account at Meta is not linked to the single unifed account of the same name. This means we cannot determine if both accounts belong to the same person. If the asnatu wiki account here at Meta and at the English Wikipedia are both yours, and you remember the password (or have email enabled), then please visit Special:MergeAccount and link them. This will prevent any automated renaming. QuiteUnusual (talk) 15:05, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Name change for BenM

[edit]
Resolved.

Hello, I have been using this identity BenM on mediawiki sites, beiginning with the English wikipedia and including "little" things like voting for the launch of wikinews since 2003 or 2004 (I'd have to double-check). I believe I was the first person to use this username and I expect to keep it. The other user should change unless it can be proven that they were using the name before me. --BenM 14:54, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

The reason you were sent the message is because you did not have a single unified account. This means we cannot determine if BenM on one project, like the English Wikinews, is the same as BenM on the English Wikipedia. Now that you have created the single unified account these accounts will not be renamed. The accounts named BenM on Meta and the German Wikipedia are still not linked to the single unified account. If these are yours, and you remember the password (or have email enabled) please visit Special:MergeAccount and link them. This will prevent any automated renaming. QuiteUnusual (talk) 14:59, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I began to get suspicious and I've started logging into the other accounts. I am the same BenM on wikipedia, mediawiki, wikinews and a few of the other English language ones. I might have logged into another language one at some point, but would not have been able to contribute as much (though in the case of Germany if it was when I was with a particular partner who spoke the language I might've been convinced to do something). Though the idea of getting into an argument with myself by proxy via wikimedia staff with "neither" of me willing to backdown is hilarious. Anyway, the meta account grew out of some reason a few years back, probably the wikinews launch and vote on irc (it was a while ago and I'm not sure where those irc logs are ... possibly still on an ancient laptop on a shelf in another room), the only one I'm not sure of is de.wikipedia, but I should be able to work it out quickly enough. -- BenM (talk) 15:22, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Okay, looks like I'm probably all of these accounts except for the German Wikipedia account, the Meta account has a different password which is probably why it wasn't linked. Pretty sure that all my accounts will have a contact email address at my domain (adversary.org, linked to from some of the user pages) or *maybe* the gmail backup address that is on the whois for said domain, but all the pre-2005 email addresses are ancient history. I'll go consolidate my accounts shortly (I thought that'd happened years ago, though, but who cares as long as the name remains). --BenM (talk) 15:49, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Name Change for Selden

I recently received a notice on several WikiMedia sites about UserID collisions and the need to change them. Apparently this was due to the accounts' passwords being different. I have to state that:

  1. Roman Bekker is mine (was used in English Wikipedia prior to my renaming to Роман Беккер in English Wikipedia and everywhere else and my moving to use SUL, and was blocked on MY OWN request to prevent unneeded use of the old account).
  2. Rombik is also mine (was used in Russian Wikipedia prior to my renaming to Роман Беккер in Russian Wikipedia and everywhere else and my moving to use SUL, and was blocked on MY OWN request to prevent unneeded use of the old account.
  3. As far as I know, I ALREADY USE ONE AND THE SAME ACCOUNT NAME EVERYWHERE. THAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF ALL THOSE RENAME REQUESTS AND WAS DONE A LONG TIME AGO. AND I HAVE ALREADY MIGRATED TO SUL. SO THERE SHOULD BE NO NEED TO RENAME ME TO "somewho~metawiki"!!!!!
  4. As accounts "Roman Bekker" and "Rombik" are (and were) mine, and are (and were) blocked indefinitely on my own requests, there is NO clashes and NO conflicts with any of them. Wrong assumption. "They" NEVER will be able "to edit wikimedia projects" and NEVER will need to, either "at the same time" with my current account or at any other time. Just because I did not ask to unblock those accounts. And because they are (and were) mine. Роман Беккер (talk) 15:05, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

And as far as I can see, the accounts on Meta and Commons are ALREADY connected/merged to my "home wiki" account Роман Беккер and to corresponding accounts across all wikiprojects. 15:15, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

@Роман Беккер:. The script that sends the messages follows redirects. You have received this message because User talk:Roman Bekker is redirected to User talk:Роман Беккер. The account Роман Беккер is fully unified and will not be impacted by the renaming. QuiteUnusual (talk) 16:42, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

User:Timmy to User:Tigris

Resolved.

Hi Keegan,

This user (User:Timmy) would like to be renamed into User:Tigris (their copyrighted name in France); but this name has been blocked on en.ws. Can Wikimedia do something for them? --Zyephyrus (talk) 16:21, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Zyephyrus: no, renaming to this name is not possible as there is a Russian user which owns the global account: Special:CentralAuth/Tigris. --IW 17:59, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Richardkw username

[edit]

Hello,

On my userpage on Wikipedia-NL (Richardkiwi) I got a message that my username will be changed. I don't have a SUL-account, I only use Richardkw on Wikimedia Commons.

I don't agree changing my username, I have this name for years! And at this moment I'm blocked at the dutch Wikipedia. I got my message on my User talk: Richardkiwi, maybe because of a redirect to my name.

I only edit at Wikimedia Commons with Richardkw and if someone else has the same name, I suggest that you change his or her name.

Don't wanna be rude, but nobody changes my username without my permission.

Please figure something else out, renaming my account is no option. The redirect on Wikipedia Nederland, can be deleted, if necessary, but my Commons-name is Richardkw and stays Richardkw.

Kind regards,

Richardkw.

p.s. I see that I automaticly get logged in here from my account Richardkiwi, I never visit this meta-wiki site!

I'm afraid that there is no option to not be renamed and your permission is not required - it is an initiative of the Wikimedia Foundation and they have the ultimate say over use of these sites. When you came to Meta you were automatically logged in and a single unified account created. For the Richardkiwi and Richardkw accounts if you want to avoid not being renamed projects where your account is not unified then you need to visit Special:MergeAccount to link the accounts to the unified account. QuiteUnusual (talk) 16:50, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
I don't know the passwords anymore. All accounts (en.wikipedia, nl.wikimedia en commons.wikimedia.org) from me under 'Richardkiwi' I did use only a few times. I cannot type the password, it's too long ago. I already know 50+ passwords on the internet, without looking them up, but passwords that I only used a few times, I don't remember. And for Richardkw: with Google, I cannot find any other Richardkw. If my account excists longer, then his account has to change and not mine ! Can you please tell me how I can keep Richardkiwi before someone from "parts unknown" does registrate that name? Mergeaccount cannot help me, because I don't know the password. And Richardkw is mine, I'm a volunteer, but what I do if Wikimedia changes my name, I will not tell. Mark my words. - Richardkiwi (talk) 18:49, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Richardkiwi: you might be interested in this discussion about usurping blocked accounts once this is done. Keegan (WMF) (talk) 06:30, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
I replied at Commons:User talk:Richardkw. You will not be effected by the renames. No action needed. Further communication via Commons. - Sincerely, Taketa (talk) 16:43, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Why I should keep my user name

[edit]
Resolved.

I read all the previous comments, and I'm not quite sure what the rules are. But from your answer to CaptainTom's message, I surmise that I can keep my user name (Jaamc), because (1) the other user name is unattached (see Global account information page and (2) I'm a a regular contributor, while the other seems to be a one-time contributor, with only two edits one day in 2007.

Thank you -- Jaamc (talk) 16:41, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Jaamc: You received the message on your talk page at MediaWiki because the account there was not unified. Now that you have created a unified account the rename will not occur. If the account named Jaamc at fi.wiki does not belong to you then this one will be renamed. If it does belong to you, please visit Special:MergeAccount to attach it QuiteUnusual (talk) 16:45, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your account will be renamed (?)

[edit]

Hi Keegan,

I happen to have a global account (SUL) for many years. I know there are a few projects where the username Aiko was used in the past, these local accounts are unattached to my global account and hardly have any edits, but the global account is mine [2] [3]. So please do not rename my account, please. Please rename the unattached local accounts.

The account Aiko on de.wikipedia.org is not mine, but there were some edits imported from my Aiko account at en.wikipedia.org and from the Aiko account at my home Wiki nl:wikipedia.org. So these edits are in fact a mix of two users :-) .

I have been active in Wikipedia for almost nine years (with this username), I hope nothing will change for me. Could you please look into this for me? - Aiko (talk) 16:46, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Aiko: The SUL account will not be renamed. The message has been delivered to the unattached local accounts as we are unable to identify who owns them. If the accounts are yours please merge them using Special:MergeAccount; if they are not yours then they will be automatically renamed. QuiteUnusual (talk) 16:56, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi @QuiteUnusual:,
Thank you very much for your reply. The problem is, I got this message at commons [4], but the account is attached to the sul account, for as far as I know. Is there something I have overlooked, or is there anyting I can do to prevent the Commons account to be renamed? - Aiko (talk) 17:42, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Also, I don't see renaming messages on some of the unattached local accounts that in fact should have gotten this message (like de:wikipedia has no message, nor have [5], [6], [7] or [8], I try to be exhaustive here, but am not sure). - Aiko (talk) 17:47, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
The page c:User talk:.Aiko redirects to your talk page. The bot which delivered the message followed the redirect and posted the message on your talk page instead of .Aiko's talk page. c:User:.Aiko will be renamed if you don't do anything. --Stefan2 (talk) 18:25, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Stefan2 for your reply,
  • Indeed, prevously I made this other account .Aiko (dotAiko), when I was in the process of usurping some Aiko-accounts. The one on Commons has been blocked after renaming [9], but there seems to be a redirect [10]. So I have to do nothing, and it will be okay for the Commons account Aiko? - Aiko (talk) 18:39, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • But then why then, did some of the unattached Aiko accounts did not get a renaming message? (they should) - Aiko (talk) 18:39, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Thank you Keegan (WMF), for your reply. I am really looking forward to the finalisation of my SUL account, and sincerely hope there will be no more surprises. Wishing you all the luck in the world with this huge enterprise. (Apologies for the language imperfections) - Aiko (talk) 10:58, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Naming conflict with my own account?

[edit]
Resolved.

Hi I received a message about renaming.

My username on en.wikipedia was previously St.Isaac and I was renamed through the usurp process to Isaac. I have Isaac on most of the english wikimedia services. I am confused how I could be overlapping with St.Isaac...

Isaac (talk) 17:24, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

edit: note also that I've been through the SUL process, and even reached out for help last year. Isaac (talk)
@Isaac: The message delivery system follows redirects, so the message for St.isaac came to your talk page. Special:CentralAuth/St.isaac shows three unattached accounts which need to be attached to the global one to avoid renaming of them. To do so, please login as St.isaac on en.wikibooks and run Special:MergeAccount there. If this process is successful, stewards can merge St.isaac into Isaac later. --IW 17:57, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your account will be renamed

This is utter nonsence. With what account should my name clash? You have written on a redirected page. Are you blind? It is pure luck that I saw your message. --Purodha Blissenbach (talk) 18:42, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
You already have a global account, see Special:CentralAuth/Purodha. So your account will not be renamed and thus you can ignore the message that you got. Regards, --Stryn (talk) 20:27, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Rename

[edit]
Resolved.

Hello, this is the situation of "Sakretsu" accounts. I own both the en.wikipedia.org and the it.wikipedia.org ones, while the other guy did a single edit in November 2011. I'm known as Sakretsu since more than four years by now, so I don't get why it should be my account to be renamed. Thank you for your attention.--95.244.216.30 18:47, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

The other Sakretsu account has been the global one since 2009 according to the CentralAuth link, and hence your accounts will have to be renamed despite you having many more contributions (see the renaming schema). Since you have two unattached accounts, you can use Steward requests/Username changes to request a unification into one new account name. Alternatively, you could try to ask the global account holder to relinquish their name, but such a request may not be fulfilled. - Kaare (talk) 20:16, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Of course my request won't be fulfilled if the other Sakretsu is inactive since years. That renaming schema doesn't make any sense. I understand it could be valid in case both the accounts would have got a certain amount of contributions, but we're talking about an account literally created for a single edit. The reality is that I'm the only Sakretsu in the entire Wikipedia and forcing me to rename my account is not logical... I'd be more than happy to leave my name to another active contributor, but this is not the case.--95.244.216.30 20:53, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
You could go to Steward requests/Username changes, follow the procedure, additionally explain the situation and ask for usurpation of the global account, to see what they think about it (no promises). - Kaare (talk) 17:47, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the advice--Sakretsu (talk) 23:50, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
