Upcoming 2019 Affiliate-selected trustee position on the Board of Wikimedia Foundation
[edit]Greetings Mr. Zhukov,
My name is Gerald Shields, also known as user:Geraldshields11. I am asking for your top rank vote for me in the election for one of two open trustee positions on the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees.
I am asking for your vote to help support emerging communities and promote an inclusive education environment on all wiki projects. Also, I plan to promote various other issues as I mention in my statement and answers to various questions. I ask that you show your support for the issues that need to be address by voting for me as one of your preferences.
My candidacy information page is Affiliate-selected Board seats/2019/Nominations/Gerald Shields on Meta or can be found at Gerald Shields candidate. As of the 7 May 2019 list of questions, I am the only candidate to have responded to all of the “Questions for all candidates - Questions for this individual candidate that do not apply to other candidates”. My answers give more details on why the Don Wikimedians User Group should vote for me.
Thank you for your time, discussion, and consideration of my candidacy. I appreciate it.
My best regards,
Gerald Shields

- Thank you for your organization's vote in the second tier during the 2019 trustee election. Without your organizations', Igbo's, and AfroCrowds' votes, I would not have been able to score better than expected. Geraldshields11 (talk) 20:30, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
New proposed UG
[edit]Hi, we are trying to create a new User group that acts as a global coordination project on meta for scientific subjects. See m:Science Wiki User Group. Wiki Science Competition will be one of its assets.
It will take some months to shape it but we are very motivated. Specifically, one of the main target of the group are people with an academic degree and/or who are involved in scientific research in real life, we want it to reach out to the scientific community.
Please join us and spread the news in your local community. We need at the moment epecially users with a sufficient knowledge of English or of meta since we are still building it (we will translate the page in the future when its identity is stable). Every comment is welcome (see the talk page)--Alexmar983 (talk) 14:30, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for your participation in the WikiGap Challenge!
[edit]Hi!
Now, we have finalized the results from the WikiGap Challenge. You can find the general and top results here. I want to thank you for your contribution, which together with the other participants have created a tremendous and long lasting impact for the visibility of women on Wikipedia.
We want to give you a barnstar for your participation, to praise your efforts for a better visibility of women on Wikipedia!
We will analyze the challenge and the way it works closely, to see how we can improve it for next year. It would be very valuable for us if you wanted to share your views on the challenge, especially when it comes to: the point system, the focus, and the adding of the list from UN Human Rights. You can send your answers to eric.luth@wikimedia.se!
I hope you found the challenge exciting, and that you want to participate next year as well!
Best, Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 11:55, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
The 2021 Community Wishlist Survey is now open! This survey is the process where communities decide what the Community Tech team should work on over the next year. We encourage everyone to submit proposals until the deadline on 30 November, or comment on other proposals to help make them better. The communities will vote on the proposals between 8 December and 21 December.
The Community Tech team is focused on tools for experienced Wikimedia editors. You can write proposals in any language, and we will translate them for you. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing your proposals!
18:26, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
We invite all registered users to vote on the 2021 Community Wishlist Survey. You can vote from now until 21 December for as many different wishes as you want.
In the Survey, wishes for new and improved tools for experienced editors are collected. After the voting, we will do our best to grant your wishes. We will start with the most popular ones.
We, the Community Tech, are one of the Wikimedia Foundation teams. We create and improve editing and wiki moderation tools. What we work on is decided based on results of the Community Wishlist Survey. Once a year, you can submit wishes. After two weeks, you can vote on the ones that you're most interested in. Next, we choose wishes from the survey to work on. Some of the wishes may be granted by volunteer developers or other teams.
We are waiting for your votes. Thank you!

Wikimedia CEE Online Meeting 2021 submission
[edit]Dear Dmitry,
On behalf of the Wikimedia CEE Online Meeting 2021 programme committee, I am pleased to inform you that your submission "Article contests in Russian and other Wikipedias in the languages of Russia (2020-2021)" has been accepted as a panel, and it was scheduled for 14:35 (UTC) on Saturday, 6 November (see the draft schedule). Considering that the conference will have language interpretation from English into Russian and vice versa, you have the choice between English and Russian as a language that you will use in your session. If you have not yet registered for the conference, please follow the instructions on this page. In case you have any additional requests or questions, do not hesitate to contact me or any other committee member.
Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 08:43, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
Dear Dmitry, I apologise for notifying you that we had to re-schedule your session from 14:35 (UTC) on 6 November (Saturday) to 09:10 (UTC) on 7 November (Sunday) after receiving a couple of requests to modify the schedule because some of the allocated times didn't work for people from other parts of the world. In order to accommodate all of them and make sure that two session on similar topics don't take place at the same, we had to re-schedule several sessions. Best.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 08:44, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

We need your feedback on a tool from the Wikimedia Summit
[edit]Hi! I'm contacting you as one of the participants in the Wikimedia Summit 2022, to kindly ask for your feedback through a 5-10 minute survey to evaluate 'Baserow' (note: the survey is on a Google form).
Baserow was a tool through which participants in the Summit co-created a database of Movement Strategy activities. We hope to learn from you how useful it may be to keep using it in the future to help document and connect on Movement Strategy work.
You are welcome and encouraged to fill out the survey in any language. Your feedback would be very appreciated --Abbad (WMF) (talk) 14:20, 16 February 2023 (UTC).

Lvova (talk) 09:12, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
JukoFF (talk) 11:45, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
