Cross-wiki abuse
Jon, I saw your lock on 133.32.176.151; [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/2001:F77:6C20:4100:0:0:0:0/64 this] is the same person. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 01:34, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
Global blocking of a fake user using my personal data
Hi Jon, just to let you know, the fake user that you blocked globally is using my first, last name and used my email to register. It's easy to get confused between the fake username Boban.Camelia and my real username Camelia.boban (which are my real name and surname), so I hope I don't have any problems editing projects or get any kind of false alarm at any level. I would have preferred the motivation in the various logs to be much clearer that it is not just a "User created for the sole purpose of vandalizing", but more correctly a "Fake user to create confusion" also in other projects and externally which ends up damaging me, since at the moment my real user is blocked indefinitely in itwiki. Obviously I canceled the confirmation of the creation of the account once the email arrived and notified all the necessary bodies to be informed. Thank you, Camelia (talk) 13:59, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
Your advice
Dear Jon kolbert, Thank you for advise on M:SR/G but In meta stewards and admins are active and fastly lock and block spammers and Vandal, but other local wikis is not take fast action against Vandal & Spammers, In hiwiki only 5 admin but his activity not routinely, sometimes his edits routinely, so I ping an stewards who fastly lock spammers and Vandals,There is a lot of vandalism or a lot of propaganda on Hindi Wikipedia, they just need to be locked directly, sometimes stewards and global sysop come here to see what's going on there.Kind regards--Âvîrâm7(talk) 03:48, 28 August 2023 (UTC)

blocked on Commons
Dear Jon, today i discovered that i'm blocked by you on Commons by you since august 23 because of the use of "open proxy".
<quote> U hebt geen toestemming om deze pagina te bewerken, want: Your IP address is in a range that has been blocked on all Wikimedia Foundation wikis. Deze blokkade is ingesteld door Jon Kolbert. De opgegeven reden is Open proxy: See the help page if you are affected: . Aanvang blokkade: 23 aug 2023 11:59 Einde blokkade: 29 mrt 2024 16:33 Uw huidige IP-adres is 2a09:bac2:4d87:1478::20a:21. The blocked range is 2A09:BAC0:0:0:0:0:0:0/29. <quote>
I would really like to edit Commons again, and honestly i don't understand why i'm suddenly blocked since i have been editing wikipediapages for ages from my computer. On the Dutch wikipedia i have an "IP block exemption", would this be possible on Commons too?
Could you please help me to get "unblocked"? On meta i've also stated the request to be "unblocked" See User talk:Saschaporsche#please unblock me
Kind regards Saschaporsche (talk) 20:32, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
Template:Unblock is a request to local admin
Hi Jon. {{unblock}} has always been a tool to talk to local admins, and not to stewards, about local blocks. Please do not try push the issue of stewards applying global blocks to local admins, we cannot help them. If you wish to have a template for the use of stewards, then please create one for stewards' use. Local admins already have enough to do without providing first level support or pings for stewards. Thanks. Noting that I have again reverted the text change that you made without either consultation or consensus. — billinghurst sDrewth 09:26, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
I want to have application for IP block removal
Hi,John. I am a Japanese wikipedia editor who has already submitted a cancellation request to UTRS 2. I don't remember doing anything that would qualify as a ban on Japanese wikipedia, but since yesterday I was suddenly punished by an IP block from you. My router has a location IP address in Tokyo, but I actually live in Osaka. I think the person who used the same IP address was probably a troll, and I got caught up in it even though I had nothing to do with it. I have sent some applications to other places, but if you are receiving this message, please apply for exemption from IP address blocking to my account "HmaaRX". My account only exists on Japanese Wikipedia. — user:HmaaRX sDrewth 08:01, 26 November 2023 (UTC) Hayabusannnnnn (talk) 08:08, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- I made the topic with a translation tool, so some of my English grammers may looks wrong.
- my present user name is "HmaaRX". "Hayabusannnnnn" is the name before changing the name on my wikipedia's account. Hayabusannnnnn (talk) 08:11, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- @HmaaRX: Looks like you are blocked because you are using a VPN or proxy service. Please disable it to edit the project, or request global IP block exempt if you must use a VPN service. Jon Kolbert (talk) 21:34, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- I was blocked without using any VPN tools (i.e. my IP address starting with 65.XXX.XXX.XXX). Hayabusannnnnn (talk) 00:06, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
