Spinach and large SPARQL dataset

[edit]

Hello

Congratulations for the launch of Spinach. This looks like an amazing tool.

For your information, I've extracted a large dataset of more than 400,000 Wikidata queries last year. Everything is described here https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:PAC2#Large_dataset.

I think it could be very useful to finetune your model.

Let me know if this is useful for future work. PAC2 (talk) 04:13, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @PAC2! Thanks for reaching out about this dataset — I've seen it on the wikis before and I agree that it would be a very useful corpus to finetune a model on. We considered using a similar dataset for training an LLM; however, the primary issue is that this type of dataset is that it only contains SPARQL queries, and not any in-depth descriptions of the queries that could translate between natural language and SPARQL.
If you have any ideas of how to extract descriptions of queries, I would love to hear your ideas! It could be quite helpful.
Thanks! HTriedman (WMF) (talk) 20:32, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
