Welcome to Meta!

[edit]

Hello Ferdinando Scala, and welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). If you would like, feel free to ask me questions on my talk page. Happy editing!

A little note about your current edits

[edit]

Do not put English version of your statement on other language pages. If someone translate that in their languages, they will put it there by their own. In the mean time, if you want to see your statement there, please translate in those language, then post it. — Tanvir | Talk ] 11:35, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Questions to Board candidates

[edit]

Based on the statistics concerning the number of pages read in previous years' Q&As, I infer that few voters take them into account. Personally, I see it as a very interesting exercise despite the fact that we the candidates are also the main readers. I believe it is a unique type of debate among us that is especially interesting.

I have noticed that User Alecmconroy suggested a very interesting series of questions on strategic issues. They can be seen here: User talk:Alecmconroy#More questions for Board Candidates (or others). I have given my opinion, but I see he has not communicated directly to the candidates this set of questions. Perhaps you find them interesting.

I wish you the best possible result in these elections and, if you agree, I suggest that we continue having this type of debate regardless of who is chosen.

Cheers and good luck.--Gomà 10:05, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I want one of those cameras!

[edit]

Where did you get that camera that shows what you will look like next December? I want one too.125.239.61.59 22:40, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

-) It is evidently a photo from LAST December...but since I run 4km a day in order to stay fit, you can easily assume it as a photo from NEXT december :-D Please sign your edits, so I can answer to your page...--Ferdinando Scala 10:26, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Posted to all candidates talk page:

To aid in the fair evaluation of all the candidates, especially those not active on EnWiki, verifiable data about the candidates is being compiled. Anyone is invited to help compile the data since it is all publicly available on-wiki.

But since the people best qualified to help are the candidates themselves, it seems reasonable to ask:

  • Which languages do you speak? (voter statement)
  • Which projects do you contribute to?
    • For each, when was your first edit?
    • For each, how many total edits? (exact figures not need)
  • Which projects are you an admin on?
  • Are you a bureaucrat? which projects? when?
  • Are you a CheckUser? Which projects? When did you start??
  • Are you a steward? If so when were you made one?
  • Have you served in a verifiable leadership role on a project? (e.g. Like EnWiki's Founder or Arbcom member)
  • Have you served in a verifiable leadership role on at the Chapter or Foundation level? (Trustee, etc)

Are there any objectively verifiable facts that should be included in this guide but aren't?

(Incidentally, this document won't reflect my own personal values or wikipolitical opinions. Ideally it will come to exist outside of my userspace in some neutral, visible location. -- Alecmconroy)

For your help with board election translations.

Hi! As member of this year's board election committe I would like to give you this barnstar for your help with the translations of the board election pages into Italian. It was very much appreciated! Jon Harald Søby 14:00, 1 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Napoli

[edit]

A presto!--D.B. 19:58, 26 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Saluti.--Reder (talk) 09:44, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Naples accommodation page

[edit]

I moved your list of Naples accommodations to Wikimania 2013 bids/Naples/Accommodations so people understand why the page exists. I hope that's okay. From a quick look at recent changes, it looked like a misplaced Wikipedia article to delete. Cheers and good luck with your Wikimania bid! Cheers. Aude (talk) 04:04, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re:New IP

[edit]

A yeah, I saw that was contributing to the project and why I welcome. Since it is you, not gonna do it.... .Érico msg 23:59, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you

[edit]

Hi, Ferdinando, Thank you for your concern regarding the earthquake in Indonesia. Currently the team members are living far from the earthquake location. Thus, none of us are in severe danger. But we are following the news closely. Will give update to the bidding page shortly. Thanks again. Bennylin 14:31, 11 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Fundraising translation feedback

[edit]

Hey Ferdinando Scala, I have a bit of a request to ask from you. We pulled down our banners nearly a fortnight ago for what was a highly successful international fundraiser and brought the curtain down on last years fundraiser. This week however we will be changing payment processors and during the testing of the new system it would be useful to use the time productively on on testing banner text.

To help us out with this I wonder if you would be willing to help us improve our italian text using This Link

Simply follow the simple instructions on that page and if you have any questions feel free to contact me on my talk page.

We are going to run the test on tuesday so if you dont see this message till 24 hours after it was sent you can ignore me :) Many Thanks though.

Jseddon (WMF) (talk) 18:01, 28 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hey, thank you so much for your help. Its the right page. Its the page used from last year but its the one that has all of the translations and text so I decided to simply continue to use it for this short systems testing we need to run this week. Jseddon (WMF) (talk) 18:43, 28 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ci pensi tu quindi a dare una riguardata? Ciao --Cotton (talk) 18:42, 28 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

--Cotton (talk) 20:22, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ciao --Cotton (talk) 22:42, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
