Nome ofensivo
Oi, Striker. Teles (Talk @ C S) 19:32, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Instead of rollback, a explanation of free Wikipedia would be more helpful im my eyes. This is a feedback page, so if someone have something to complain this is the right place.
Teles (T @ L C S) 21:50, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!
Hi! I just want to thank you and give you this barnstar for your help with the translation of the 2011 fundraiser! The fundraiser was the best we ever had, both in terms of the amount we collected and in terms of number of translations. We couldn't have done either one without the help we got from you and other translators. If you are interested, we made a report, which has some statistics about the translations.
And: I have one more request, and that is that you take this survey. You may have got an e-mail about it, and if you did, please ignore this. But if you didn't it would be great if you would take this survey too, so we can learn to improve the translation experience.
Again, thanks for your help with translations – you're awesome! Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 14:31, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Pergunta
Oi, Defender. Se quiser, posso fazer a proposta do pedido.—Teles «Talk to me ˱@ L C S˲» 20:36, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Elton/Archive, congratulations! You now have the rights of administrator on Meta. Please take a moment to read the Meta:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat, and Meta:Requests for deletion, but also Talk:Spam blacklist and Talk:Interwiki map), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings, or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care.
Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-admin @ irc.freenode.net. You may find Commons:Guide to adminship to be useful reading although it doesn't always completely apply here at Meta.

problema
Request for feedback on my GSoC'14 proposal
Hi Defender,
I am planning to work on the project titled "Tools for mass migration of legacy translated wiki content" this summer under Google Summer of Code. I have drafted a proposal for the same over the past few weeks. This project is going to help the translation adminstrators like you in a great way, as it would completely automate the tedious manual task of preparing a page for translation and then importing the translations into the Translate extension. You can check the proposal page for detailed information on how I plan to accomplish this.
As you would be an end user of this tool, it would be great if you could go through the proposal and provide feedback/suggestions. Your feedback would definitely help me improve the proposal as well help in creating an even better tool. You can do the same on the discussion page of the proposal or reply here, whichever is convenient for you. I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you!
P.S: I need to submit the proposal to Google by March 19, 2014.

TemplateScript
Hello Defender. I updated your common.js page to the latest version of TemplateScript. You were using a much older version called 'regex menu framework', so the main difference you'll see is an improved regex editor (though it has many new features for text snippets and scripting). If you notice any problems or have questions, let me know! :) —Pathoschild 04:12, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Global CSS/JS migration
Hello Defender. You have a global.js page which contains your global scripts for all wikis. Since August 19th, your global.js and global.css pages are loaded automatically on all wikis (see announcement). Since you already load them yourself on some wikis, you may experience script errors or issues like tools being added twice. I can fix that for you by merging your local scripts and styles into your global pages, and deleting the local pages with synchbot. Do you want me to do that? —Pathoschild 03:50, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Pathoschild: Yes, please. Sorry for the long absence. Defender (talk) 12:09, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

Global renamer
Hello, sorry in advance if I am bothering you. I saw your withdrawal from the 2016 election. Even if it is not the type of task you had in mind, I want to inform you about a possibility here on meta. After the SUL finalization there is a search for Global_renamers.
As I did with other users, I am contacting you because at the moment in Global_renamers#Users_with_global_rename_access and Stewards#List_of_current_stewards, if I correctly remember, we have only 4 pt>3. That's probably enough, but some of them are not very active, so maybe sometimes a backlog could occur. Plus, there are more potential user who only speaks Portuguese that may enter the "wiki system" in the following years.
Now, you have a good English knowledge, a cross-wiki experience and you are a sysop on different projects, so you know how to deal with user-related issues. If you want to be more involved in the GR tasks in the future, feel free to apply. We have accepted in the past months candidates with much lower cross-wiki activity or language skills than you, so you probably have good chances. Constant activity is not a big issue, if look at the GR stats. After all, it is a simple task, you just need to read carefully few guidelines. If you want to apply, I suggest you to translate or update some of the meta page Global renamers into your own language if needed.
Please notice that I am not an expert user on meta nor a local bureaucrat or sysop, I just care about the "variety" of the meta environment and I though that it was useful to inform some users of the opportunity. If you know yourself some profile who might be interested, please let him/her know this "opportunity". If you are not interested, or you prefer to wait to have more experience, or you think you won't be very active in the following months, that's great as well.
Have a nice day.--Alexmar983 (talk) 02:17, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- Hello Alexmar983. Of course I'm interested to help in this area as well. I'm in doubt if I should request the tools now or wait a bit more because it may be considered too early since I intensified my activity level. Best regards, Defender (talk) 18:44, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
- IMHO you shouldn't worry too much, I could understand if you had proposed yourself directly aftr the withdrawal, but I see no hurry from your side, I came to your talk. In any case waiting is always a good strategy if doubtful, so spend some time reading the guidilines, translate them if necessary (there is always some new part in need of translation), ask around the other GRs... it is not a bad idea.--Alexmar983 (talk) 04:38, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

The problem with suppression of block log entries
They are still visible Krett12 (talk) 19:36, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
- No harm intended, I'm just pointing it out so you know it's not *really* private. Krett12 (talk) 19:36, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Krett12: unfortunately those accounts remain visible on this page unless they're oversighted, but hiding the entries from the block log with revdel reduces their visibility at least. Defender (talk) 22:12, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

- @Krett12: currently only oversighters and stewards have access to the
hideuser
right (the option on Special:Block to 'block a username, hiding it from the public'). Regular admins can hide the entry on special:log/block, but the account remains visible on Special:BlockList, as it has been reported here. This should be fixed IMO. We can ask local oversighters and stewards for assistence, but the response itsn't always immediate and not all of these accounts meet the criteria outlined in the Oversight policy. Some offensive accounts don't make reference to any user, so I'm not sure they fall under criteria #4 (Hiding of blatant attack names on automated lists and logs, where this does not disrupt edit histories) of the OS policy. Pinging @Ajraddatz:, @MarcoAurelio:, @Trijnstel: sorry if I am bothering, but I'd like an opinion here. Defender (talk) 16:55, 6 June 2016 (UTC)- Are you a steward? If you are, just go here and make changes to any account you like. (Well there are rules but you get my point). If not, just ask them to go there, type in the username, and check the "hidden" checkbox. I agree that it needs fixing, and the only way I know involves tearing down the entire block list. I'm neighter steward nor local oversighter. I've always asked for assistence on IRC and e-mail when there's a need to request suppression. Meta has 4 oversighters now, but two of them aren't very active. There might be room for another oversighter, but I don't know if the community trusts me enough to grant me that access. IMHO what we need is a fix for this "bug", so accounts hidden from the block log with RevDel are no longer shown on this page. Best regards, Defender (talk) 23:45, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
