2011 Ombudsman Commission
[edit]Hi, I've left a note for you on meta RfP page request. Thank you, M/ 00:26, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hello Christine. Reviewing the list of rights changed it seems that Lar@commonswiki was missed (his local CU bits got removed due to his ombudsman term). Except other instructions, shouldn't his bits be restored? If so, please note so at RfP on the section M7 linked above. Thank you, -- Dferg ☎ talk 10:57, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, yes it looks like I missed that, but it also looks like Lar brought that up on the posting and it's been fixed. Thanks for letting me know! Christine (WMF) 19:10, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you. Another question. I've removed Elian's global ombudsmen user rights because his term has expired. Also, Mwpnl is appointed to the commission but has got no global rights on his account. Can they be added? -- Dferg ☎ talk 22:41, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hey, sorry i missed this! Yes, Mwpnl does need global rights added to his account. Hopefully we've got everyone now... Thanks!! Christine (WMF) 21:16, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

"reviewer" rights on german wikipedia
[edit]Hello Christine, did you need the "reviewer" user rights of your account at german wikipedia? It is possible to remove that user rights from your account on german wikipedia? It is better to use the labs wikis for testing this feature, which is unused on the german wikipedia. Thanks. Der Umherirrende 18:35, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- The user right was removed by User:Philippe (WMF) (eee User talk:Philippe (WMF)#reviewer" rights on german wikipedia). Der Umherirrende 20:40, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
Welcome back!
[edit]Hi Christine, welcome back! I've just made a minor tweak on your user page, I couldn't quite find a staff photo of you, but if you know where one is, adding the parameter | image name = Name_of_Photo.jpg to the template will add it for you. Best, The Helpful One 21:31, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you! I don't have a staff photo as far as I know; I think one was taken towards the end of my time at the Foundation last year, but I don't believe it was uploaded anywhere. Which is actually fine with me in a lot of ways :) If I find it though, I'll make sure to add it. Thanks again! Christine (WMF) (talk) 19:07, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
- No problem, yes I'm sure a lot of staffers wouldn't mind if their photos were unavailable for upload, if you do ever happen to come across it then be sure to put it on Commons so that you can link to it on here and Foundation wiki. ;-) The Helpful One 19:23, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi Christine, good to see you again. Good luck in your new role. All best wishes, PeterSymonds (talk) 19:53, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Feedback for new survey
[edit]Ok, thx. Przykuta (talk) 07:54, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
- "What is your user access level? Please choose all that apply." - For some versions (with flagged revisions) we could add "reviewer" - for respondents, who edits these versions.
- "We are interested in finding out more about your recent participation in Wikipedia and the Wikipedia community. For each activity, please indicate how often you have participated in the following activities in the last 30 days."
- "something else.... "
- "Wikipedia and the Wikipedia community" - use 2 questions - for online works (tech, edits, patrol etc.) and outline works (chapter, outreach, workshops, "wikievangelism" etc.)
- "If you had to choose, which of these would you agree with:" I see a problem:
- "The feedback from other editors through reverts, discussions, etc. has been a bad experience for me, but has helped me become a better editor"?? "I don't agree with both"
- " Below, we list some problems that have been identified with Wikimedia culture. Which of them are the most important problems that have affected you personally, making it harder for you to edit? Please pick UP TO THREE of them. "
- "Something else...."
- "Are you aware of the “gender gap” in the Wikipedia editing community (fewer female than male editors)?" - maybe: Do you know how many female users contribute to your home Wikipedia...
Yes ...% No
- "How well do you believe the Foundation supports:" - it could be better to list all sister projects
Best regards Przykuta (talk) 08:26, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Przykuta, thanks for the comments! We may want to move them over to Research talk:Wikipedia Editor Survey August 2012. Just a quick note on the access levels and gender gap questions: We actually decided not to repeat those in this instance of the survey, to keep it as short as possible (the draft wasn't up to date in that respect recently, sorry). Regards, Tbayer (WMF) (talk) 18:59, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Przykuta, just a few other quick comments: The question about feedback we are going to add a "neither" option to that one, thanks for the suggestion!! Having a "Something else.." option, which I'm assuming means a write-in value, is a little tricky for this survey just due to its size. Write in blocks take longer to analyze, and for the amount of responses we're aiming for this go around, the time it would take to go through write-ins would delay us from getting the results out to everyone, but it's something to look at for other surveys where we might go for a smaller pool of responses. As to listing all of the sister projects, we were trying to keep the question kind of short, which is why we didn't list all of them this time. We're also double-checking the technology end for allowing an "up to x" amount response for that particular question. Thanks so much for the feedback!!! Christine (WMF) (talk) 19:40, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
- Regarding the sister projects, note also that we're only running this one on the Wikipedias and Commons, so any results about a particular other sister project would be of limited value anyway.
- Regarding access levels and reviewer status, we're now actually looking to including that information automatically via the API (as it was already planned for admin status). Thanks for the idea!
