Add topicChobot and id:Lumut daun
[edit]It took a lot of work to clean this up. Chobot added a set of links to id:Lumut daun that were incorrect, then duplicated those links across many Wikipedias. The problem was that the Indonesian Wikipedia was calling the group "Bryopsida", and you (or Chobot) assumed that all pages about the taxon "Bryopsida" were about the same topic. This is not correct, as the Indonesian page on "lumut daun" was about all moss species (Bryophyta on most Wikipedias and Wikispecies), and not the subset class "Bryopsida". A match in scientific names is not a guarantee of identity of the topic, as many names are used differently in different classification systems by different authors. --EncycloPetey 04:31, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
KIST & KAIST
[edit]Hi ChongDae,
Thank you for the highlight, there was a confusion in the French Wikipédia between the two acronyms, due to approximate translations. I created a quick draft of the KIST article and corrected the bad wikilinks I've encountered. Please tell me if there's anything wrong.
Best regards,

Request for Interview Regarding Wikipedia Bots
[edit]Greetings-
My name is Randall Livingstone, and I am a graduate student at the University of Oregon, currently collecting data for my dissertation on Wikipedia editors who create and use bots and assisted editing tools, as well as editors involved in the initial and/or ongoing creation of bot policies on Wikipedia. As a member of the bot community and bot operator, I would very much like to interview you for the project at a time and in a method that is most convenient for you (Gchat, another IM client, Skype, email, telephone, etc.). I am completely flexible and can work with your schedule. The interview will take approximately 45-60 minutes.
My dissertation project has been approved both by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the University of Oregon, and by the Research Committee at the Wikimedia Foundation. You can find more information on the project on my meta page.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to hearing from you to set up a time to chat. Thank you very much.

Interwiki
[edit]Hello, your bot added wrong interwiki to en:Memorial article, it's a polish interwiki pl:Pomnik historii. Can you please remove it because it's not relevant. I've done it few times but each time it was added again by bots. If there's a chance can you please remove that link in the other language versions? Frees (talk) 14:11, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the text update
[edit]Thanks for the text for the script. I have added it in. To note that I have also done some more work with the koreanroyal stuff, and will be seeing what more I can do globally. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:14, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
Wikidata is here; please disable any interwiki bots on the English Wikipedia
[edit]Hi!
Wikidata has been deployed to the English Wikipedia. Going forward, Wikidata will manage interwiki links. Further information: m:Wikidata/Deployment Questions and <https://blog.wikimedia.de/?p=13892>.
Important note: Bots that continue to add, remove, or update interwiki links on the English Wikipedia may be blocked from editing after Saturday, February 16, 2013.
If you are running pywikipedia's interwiki.py, please update to pyrev:11073 which will automatically prevent your bot from updating links on this wiki.
If you have any questions, please ask at the bot owners' noticeboard. Thank you for your past work maintaining interwiki links. It has been very appreciated and we're looking forward to an even brighter future with Wikidata. Legoktm (talk) 09:24, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Chobot @ is.wikipedia
[edit]Since today is.wikipedia is getting language links from Wikidata. You should either update your bot, once an update that makes pywikipedia compatible with Wikidata becomes available, or stop its present job of maintaining interlanguage links. Thanks.--Snaevar (talk) 00:13, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
Uklanjanje bot zastavice / Removal of bot flag
(English) I want to inform you that on bs.wiki there has been a voting that resulted in accepting the removal of bot flags for inactive and/or interwiki bots. Your bot has been identified to meet at least one of these criteria. This decision has been made due to the new developments with Wikidata by which all interwiki bots have become unnecessary. If you want to keep your bot flag, then please report that here by indicating what new task your bot will be performing and how this will be done. Note however that this has to be a concrete and useful task for the community before it will be accepted. If you have any questions, please let me know on my talk page. In case of no response, the removal of the bot flag will be performed within a few weeks from now. However, after that period you are always welcome to file a new request for a bot flag.

Chobot at enwiki
[edit]Are you aware that Chobot has been blocked (by me) at enwiki for nearly a week now? I oculdn't leave a message here last time (Wikimedia didn't allow me), now trying again... Fram (talk) 07:41, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
[[en:File:example.png]] is wrongly deleted
[edit]Hello, your bot has a small bug, it should not delete links with colons inside, because these are not language links. Furthermore in the example the carriage return was delete wrongly. Here is the example Greetings, Alex42 (talk) 14:15, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
bot message
[edit]Bot messages as I read today Bot: Migrating 1 interwiki links, now provided by on Wikidata on Q4822771 might be reduced from provided by on Wikidata to provided by Wikidata. This seems short & simple enough to me and is, of course, sufficient. --Holmium (talk) 07:09, 4 November 2014 (UTC)
Should FuzzyBot remove all potentially outdated translations?
[edit]Hello, thanks for adding multiple new translations in your language here at Meta-Wiki in recent years. Please join the discussion with your opinion: Should FuzzyBot automatically remove all potentially outdated translations?. Nemo (talk) 12:01, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Your bot in Ukrainian Wikipedia
[edit]Hi. You have received this message, because you have a bot in Ukrainian Wikipedia. For a long time, your bot has not committed any actions in our project. Currently, Ukrainian Wikipedia community decides what to do with inactive bots. We encourage you to visit this page and inform the community whether you would need the bot flag in the future, and if so, why. If you no longer need the flag, we would be grateful if you inform the community.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page, or place them on the page to which I have referred. Unfortunately, I cannot look at all the pages, so if you ask the question here, most likely, I can not answer.
We expect a response from you within a week of receiving this message.
Thank you for attention. Best regards, bureaucrat of Ukrainian Wikipedia Максим Підліснюк (talk) 19:37, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
Chobot - cswiki - bot flag
[edit]Hi, I removed Chobot's bot flag since this bot was an interwiki bot which is not needed now. If you'll need it in future, please create new request. Regards, bureaucrat of Czech Wikipedia, --Martin Urbanec (talk) 18:58, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
Chobot - dewiki
[edit]On de:Kauai Plantation Railway Chobot removed the sitelink to enwiki even though the sitelink is not present on Wikidata. It would be good if you could add a test function to your bot to check if the linking is indeed done on Wikidata before removing any links from Wikipedia articles. --Pasleim (talk) 13:27, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
Bot @ simple.wiki
[edit]We have removed your bot's flag because your bot has been inactive for over a year and was used for interwiki work which is no longer needed. If you need your flag back for a new task feel free to request again at the wiki. Thanks. -Djsasso (talk) 12:17, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your participation during the Inspire Campaign focused on outreach to outside knowledge networks from February 2017. I'm interested in hearing your experience during the campaign, so if you're able, I invite you to complete this brief survey to describe how you contributed to the campaign and how you felt about participating. I want to improve how campaigns are run, so let me know if there's something that could be done better for next time.
Please feel free to let me know on my talk page if you have any questions about the campaign or the survey. Thanks! I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 18:34, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Bot @ it.wiki
[edit]Hi! Your bot on it.wikipedia has been inactive for more than 12 months. Let me know if you want to reactivate it shortly. Otherwise, it will be deflagged. Best regards, --.avgas 14:08, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
카일 라이-패트
[edit]Hello,
I am from a wikipedia:FANDOM community and we have recently been dealing with some spam regarding this man, Kyle Lai-Fatt, by a group of users who claim he is a musician that they absolutely adore. This man is not a musician and is only a video game developer for the NBA 2K series. I am contacting you and other Korean administrators because the spam appears to have bled over to the Korean Wikipedia with the page wikipedia:ko:카일 라이-패트. I have read a translated version of the page and it appears to state most of the same information the spammers have been adding to the Fandom community and the only source provided is an IGN article about one of the video games he worked on. The source does not verify anything in the article at all as it mentions nothing about any kind of music career whatsoever. This would violate Wikipedia’s notability guidelines, among other things. I do not speak Korean so I am unable to initiate the deletion process so I am reaching out to you and other administrators to see if you can help.
Thanks,
CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 12:24, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
Bot activity on the Dutch Wikipedia
[edit]Dear bot owner,
Your bot account hasn't made any edits on the Dutch Wikipedia for at least three years. In accordance with the local bot policy the bot flag will be removed in three months. If you want to retain the bot flag, you can opt out by going to nl:Wikipedia:Bots/Bevestigingen.
