soweego project: call for support

[edit]

Dear @SR5:

Remember the Wikidata primary sources tool? Thanks to your support, my team has recently started building its next version (yes, the grant process took a long time). A couple of new features are deployed, so feel free to give them a try.

I'm reaching out to draw your attention on a new use case for the tool. The main goal is to add a massive amount of identifiers to Wikidata, ensuring live maintenance of links.

Do you think that Wikidata should become the central linking hub of open knowledge? If so, I'd be really grateful if you could endorse the soweego project:

m:Grants:Project/Hjfocs/soweego

You just have to click on the blue button in the infobox. Of course, any other comment is more than welcome on the discussion page.

Looking forward to your valuable feedback.
Best,

--Hjfocs (talk) 10:30, 26 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Mix'n'match and soweego: call for support

[edit]

Dear @SR5:

       TL;DR:

First, thank you for being a Mix'n'match [1] user.

Does the name soweego ring you a bell?
It's a machine learning system that links Wikidata to large catalogs [2].
It's a close friend of Mix'n'match, which mainly caters for small catalogs.

The latest catalogs uploaded by soweego need some love: why don't you check them out?
If you are a music enthusiast, Discogs and MusicBrainz are what you need: musicians [3], [4], bands [5], [6], and records [7], [8].
Are you passionate about cinema? IMDb is there with actors [9], directors [10], musicians [11], producers [12], writers [13], and movies [14].

I would be really grateful if you could support soweego with a GitHub star:
https://github.com/Wikidata/soweego

Best,

Multiple Wikispecies-Wikidata

[edit]

Hallo! I've just realised, that for several pages I created on wikispecies - 2 or 3 corresponding pages were created by you on Wikidata. For instance, for Simulium izuae three items/pages were created: Q95508204, Q95508205, and Q95508206. Is this work still in progress, and could this be somehow improved? Cheers, --Wlodzimierz (talk) 23:32, 25 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Linguistic disambiguation pages recorded to the multi-lingual database?

[edit]

Good morning,
It appears that your excellency has just transferred dozens of the WP:D disambiguation pages (species or proper nouns sharing the same local alias) of the Chinese language to create many new multiple-language label pages with only one entry on the Meta-wiki platform, such as:
* "還魂草": Five plants sharing the same common names locally;
* "賀哈: Five places havign the same name;
* "楊建文": Two celebrities who had the same name in their life;...
..., but since these alias disambiguation entries are useful only to assist the native speakers/users to identify the terms in that specific language and cultural areas, which might mostly not possible repeat in other languages to be linked to, what is the point to create so many single-entry pages on the multilingual Meta-wiki platform? Sincerely yours, Mickie-Mickie (talk) 23:47, 4 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
