A gentle reminder to follow due process on SRUC
[edit]Hi, Email reminders are essential part of the process when putting request onhold as not all users watch onwiki talk pages. This rename shouldn't have been processed without an email notification. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 05:47, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- @1997kB: Hi, I'm confused because I don't see relevant policies mentioned that email reminders are essential, and I see other renamers don't perform email reminders every time. aqurs 🍧 06:26, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- It is common sense if there is an email attached to an account and Special:EmailUser shows you can email them, then it should be done. This practice is being followed from as long as I remember. Assistance page on enwiki mention how such request should be handled. Since you got the flag just a month ago, I recommend observing these common practice on SRUC before actioning the requests as mishandled usurpation requests can lead to someone losing their username. Remember a lot of people just use Wikipedia to read and can also have account. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 12:02, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- I would be fine with email reminders, and I agree it does help. But current policy in meta doesn't clearly mention that it is a must, instead of the usurpation requested template. I personally don't think it is such thing that can explains by 'common sense'. Thanks's for your reminder though. aqurs 🍧 12:14, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
