About me

I live in Washington, DC, USA. My academic background includes forestry (BSFR, Univ. of Georgia) and the law (Juris Doctor, Georgetown University Law Center). I've worked as a carpenter, general contractor, underground utility specialist, general counsel, and technology policy advocate. My tech policy work began in 2015 and has centered around protecting democratic values in digital spaces.

My work

I'm responsible for analyzing and responding to legislative and regulatory proposals that could impact Wikimedia projects and the free knowledge movement in North America. I work with the Global Advocacy team and colleagues across multiple departments (including Legal, Communications, Advancement, and Product & Tech), as well as Wikimedia affiliates, allies, and active volunteers, to promote reasonable, sustainable, and practical approaches to internet regulation that protect free knowledge.
