Queen Asali is a Wikipedian based in Kenya and has interest in learning more on how to be actively involved in the Wikimedia projects. I am currently the UNDP Wikipedian-in-residence Fellowship at Code for Africa (The Fellowship is a paid part-time, 6 (six) month programme) between September 2022- January 2023 during which I was working on mobilizing regional Wikipedia editors as change-makers for growing the local community of volunteer Wikipedia editors and contributors, by organizing events, edit-a-thons, facilitating technical training to new editors and experienced editors with a key focus on detecting and correcting any poor quality, misleading, toxic or potentially planted disinformation relating to the elections or Kenya’s democratic processes on Wikipedia.

As I make contributions in the different Wiki spaces, this is also an opportunity for me to grow my skills and increase my knowledge on issues regarding African content.
