Your Local Chapter
[edit]This workshop is produced to teach users and GLAM project volanteers how to contribute media to Wikipedia Commons to be used your wikipedia articles.
One of the main problems in creating an project like wikipedia is the lack of free media to support the textual content.
Wikimedia Commons has a number of workshops to support creative work. These are run under the auspicies of the Graphic Lab.
This tutorial teaching how to contributre media to wikipedia. The areas coverd are:
- creating different media
- the most important maintenence tasks:

Whitening or cleaning the background

Removal of objects and color improvement

Image restoration

Vectorization of raster graphics
- focusing on number of free and open source software:
