About me
Hi! My name is Maja. I’m a cultural anthropologist by education, and culture is something I’m truly passionate about. I love discovering it in various ways – through travel, art events, music, and most of all, through people. For me, every trip is not just a change of location, but also an opportunity to immerse myself in something new, understand others, and connect with their daily rituals. I’m also interested in documentary photography – it’s a way of capturing real moments and emotions that can later tell stories without the need for words. I guess it's a passion that never gets boring for me. Wikipedia is something really special to me. I believe it’s one of the best places on the internet because it’s driven by community, not profit. Each of us can contribute to this project, and that gives a sense of not just consuming knowledge, but also co-creating it. On top of that, I have tons of pets – 8 in total! A dog, three cats, and four rats. My home is a real zoo, but I love it! Animals are an inseparable part of my life, and each of them has its own character and place in my heart. In general, I’m the kind of person who likes to take action, discover, share what matters, and enjoy the little things. It’s worth meeting me because I never run out of topics to talk about, and I have plenty of positive energy to share.
My work
In November 2024, I joined the team as a Fundraising Coordinator. My main responsibility will be securing funds from various sources to support our community. I will also be involved in brainstorming and organizing competitions, events, and other initiatives that will help present Wikipedia to the world in the best possible way. I’m excited to be part of this team and look forward to working together on these projects!
