An Invitation to Talk

A family of elephants

The CEO of Wikimedia Foundaiton, Maryana Iskander, recently announced an initiative called Talking: 2024. The aim is to talk, share, and learn with contributors (on- and off-wiki) about some of the big questions facing the future of our movement. I believe the Board of Trustees and Foundation leadership would benefit greatly from learning what you think and I would like to invite you to take part.

This series of conversations builds on the initial listening tour that Maryana led in late 2021. The priorities that Wikimedia contributors identified in those discussions then became the driving force in the Foundation’s annual plan. Two years later, our work and mission remain urgent and we still face some big questions. Do we have what is needed to sustain Wikimedia for generations to come and what does that require of us from now on?

You can take part by having a 45 minute call with a senior leader or Trustee of the Board. We can schedule the call in the coming weeks (or months) at a time that is convenient for you. If you prefer things on-wiki, we can also arrange that. Sign up on wiki and tell us if you want to connect with a specific Trustee or leader. Let us know if you prefer an individual or group conversation, need language support, or any other accommodation. We'll do our best to match. Thank you.
