I edited for five or six or seven years before being wrongly blocked as a sockpuppet. Since then I tried to appeal but English Wikipedia is governed by an administrative culture in which suspicion reigns and evidence is nothing, and in which supremacy over all content editors is accorded to any administrator. That culture there attracts the very worst sort of bullying personalities. I was subjected to forums like WP:AN/ANI in which insults and ignorant nonsense charges against me occurred and in which the offenders, to the discredit of their personal characters, also determined that I must not be allowed to defend myself.
By "ignorant" above, I criticize not my perception of the quality of those charges, but rather that administrators, prominent ones, presented as fact sets statements that had no basis in my editing history. To pursue whatever the "he must be a sock" theory of the moment was they imagined or made up stuff detrimental to me and asserted it as fact. Is that lying? In any case, don't believe a single word that you read about me on English Wikipedia, without checking with me after. I can usually refute this stuff with a sentence and quick link to a supporting diff.
I'd like to edit again. I contributed in my view solidly for years as I said. Oh, I wasn't an extremely prolific editor, but I did stuff here and there and it added up. I think I would attempt to improve policies now though. My experiences upon being blocked and observations since have led me to believe there are a great number of decent editors just like me that get chewed up by this unaccountable administrative culture. Do I say that *all* of them are bad? Of course not. But the others do not speak out against the abuses of their fellows. I used to fault them too, but I realized that for some of them it's self-preservation. A good way for an administrator to lose his or her adminship is to call out abuses, even clear ones, of other administrators.
I don't know how I'll be able to be unblocked though. I've attracted hounders. Any time I try to make my case, they show up and pile on with screeds against me. Have my actions warranted this? I don't think so. I wish I'd never encountered every administrative hounder that ever watchlisted my talkpage, there are like 25 that have done so, I wish they'd go away. That too is why they stay. Amended some, to make the case without getting bogged down by reactions of those who feel I'm undetachedly personalizing things. Colton Cosmic (talk) 15:37, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Amended some more, to respond to criticism by Kraxler that my tone was overboard. Yes, I'm frustrated, but you really have to learn about my case to understand why my frustration is warranted. Colton Cosmic (talk) 15:36, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
