Global Profile Page and Soft Redirects
[edit]I maintain a single, central userspace profile page here on Meta-Wiki, and my userspace profiles on all other WMF projects that I have an account on are essentially just soft redirects to my Meta profile. The global profile page relies on a subpage User:AugurNZ/Tabs, which I pilfered (with acknowledgment) from WorldTraveller101. The soft redirect pages have been crafted from a subset of the /Tabs page, and uses Wikinyms to welcome other editors to my userspaces, thanks to a suggestion by LauraHale.
Global Talkpage, Editnotice and Soft Redirects
[edit]I maintain a single, central user talk page here on Meta-Wiki, and my user talk pages on all other WMF projects that I have an account on are essentially just soft redirects to my Meta talk page. Thanks to advice from Salvidrim, I now use a soft redirect rather than hard redirects on my talk pages. The soft redirects use a custom editnotice which I maintain at User_talk:AugurNZ/Editnotice on all other WMF projects that I have an account on. The redirects on the editnotice lead back here to Meta-Wiki, as does the talk link in my global signature. This is a temporary fix until trans-wiki transclusion of templates across WMF projects can be enabled.
Global Signature
[edit]I maintain a global signature on Meta-Wiki and on all other WMF projects that I have an account on. The signature is located on each project at User:AugurNZ/Signature and is maintained independently for now. This is a temporary fix until trans-wiki transclusion of templates across WMF projects can be enabled.
Signature Policy Compliance
[edit]My global signature has an Interwiki link to my central profile here on Meta-Wiki, which, while admittedly is an external link, it is still a link to a WikiMedia Foundation site, so it shouldn't breach Wikipedia's signature policy. Also, while my sig doesn't contain a link to my local profile page or to my local talk page on each project, it does contain a link to my local contributions, so it meets the requirement that "Signatures must include at least one direct internal link to your user page, user talk page, or contributions page". I trust that this requirement will be the same for all other WMF projects where I have an account.
Global Sig
[edit]I also maintain a shortened form of my signature, called a "sig", for times when someone just wants to cite my username in text. It contains no links at all, only my customary font formatting as used in my main signature. Think of it as the "lite" version of my signature. This can be easily substituted manually using {{subst:User:AugurNZ/Sig}}
. This was the first element of my global profile that was submitted as a task request to SynchBot for proliferation to all other WMF projects that I have an account on.
Global Custom JS and Imports
[edit]I maintain a single, central, customized Javascript page on Meta-Wiki at User:AugurNZ/common.js which gets imported into my custom settings for all other WMF projects that I have an account on. This is achieved by adding the following line to the /common.js file on the respective WMF project. This is a temporary fix until bugzilla:13953; gerrit:7274 are resolved.
mw.loader.load('//meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:AugurNZ/common.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');
Global Custom CSS and Imports
[edit]I maintain a single, central, customized CSS page on Meta-Wiki at User:AugurNZ/common.css which gets imported into my custom settings for all other WMF projects that I have an account on. This is achieved by adding the following line to the /common.css file on the respective WMF project. This is a temporary fix until bugzilla:13953; gerrit:7274 are resolved.
@import url("//meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:AugurNZ/common.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css");
