The following is a statement of how I will vote in the 2011 elections to the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation.

  • Harel Cain (Harel)
    Yes.
  • Ting Chen (Wing)
Yes, good record in his past term on the Board, and good platform. (Others may disagree; cf. the furore here.)
  • William H. DuBay (Bdubay)
No. Has answered few of the standard questions.
  • James Forrester (Jdforrester)
No. I thought of him as a yes-man when he sat on ArbCom, and many of his question answers demonstrate that this has not changed.
  • Lodewijk Gelauff (Effeietsanders)
No. Very experienced on Wikimedia (was, or is - can't recall, a steward), and has some chapter experience, but I don't think he has the vision to sit on the Board. Definitely wouldn't do any harm, but I think there are better candidates.
  • Joan Gomà (Gomà)
Yes. Has good priorities (especially interface improvements, IRL fundraising network, etc.)
  • Samuel Klein (Sj)
    Yes.
  • Patricio Lorente (Patricio.lorente)
    Yes. Experienced with chapters.
  • Gerard Meijssen (GerardM)
No. Although his blog is interesting, in my Board I prefer amat victoria curam to rerum coversio—but maybe I'm just unadventurous.
  • Tom Morton (ErrantX)
Yes. From his answers, has good vision.
  • Marc-André Pelletier (Coren)
Yes, I've worked with Coren, so I won't be voting. If I was, I'd support; he has a good platform, aalthough he ought to take a less methodical approach to problems. Per talk page.
  • Milos Rancic (Millosh)
Yes. Experienced with chapters and other WMF things.
  • Jane S. Richardson (Dcrjsr)
    Yes.
  • Ferdinando Scala (Ferdinando Scala)
No. Has not answered most or all of the standard questions.
  • Mischa Vetere (mvart4u)
No. Unclear platform, and just been indefinitely blocked on Commons for legal threats and harassment.
  • Urs Wäfler (Urs.Waefler)
No. Has answered few of the standard questions.
  • Kat Walsh (mindspillage)
Kat seems to have been a good board member these past few years, and I am tempted to say no because entrenched members are generally a bad thing, but I think her experience would make her valuable. Yes.
  • Esteban Zárate (Ezarate)
No. Too narrow a platform, so can't tell if he's right for the Board.

Not realising that the election was using the Schulze method, here are my rankings of the candidate. (I've just voted.) I did not rank the candidates with no number beside their name, and I only ranked candidates who I said "Yes" to above. AGK 22:25, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
